“Great hotel in a great location”

The location is wonderful. The tourist office is across the street, the old town is less than 5 minutes away and the hotel is off the busy street. It is clean, comfortable, and everything worked perfectly including the high speed internet. The staff are friendly and informative. We definitely would stay there again.

“great location! Great service! Expensive breakfast.”

The location of this hotel was perfect. The hotel was nice and the rooms large and comfortable. Beds were very comfortable and the rooms were nicely renovated. We'd stay there again!

“Terrific hotel, resonable rates, great location”

Excellently located on the edge of town, the Best Western Hotel Atrium in Arles, France, offers a terrific value for your money. With an outdoor swimming pool, it overlooks the town square (Blvd des Lices) and is an ideal base from which to take strolls through the twisted, cute narrow pedestrian walkways which honeycomb the old town of Arles, and meet the friendly Arlésiens (citizens of Arles). It is great to soak up the Van Gogh experience and try to locate the sites where he painted his now-famous colorful paintings of everyday life such as L'Espace, Les Alyscamps, Falling Autumn Leaves, and the site of the Langlois Bridge. Make your way to the Le Grand Rhone to find the actual spot that Vincent painted his leitmotif Starry Night, at Place De Lamartine. From the hotel, head to Place du Forum and reward yourself with a café crème at the Yellow Cafe Terrace, site of the Cafe de Nuit. Via the Rue De La Republique, perambulate to the Quai Max Dormoy, and explore Thermes de Constantine to keep your toes warm in caldarium and the tepidarium. Enter the Cloister of Saint Trophimus for a time travel into the Middle Ages, then go further back in time via the Rond Point Des Arenas to the amazingly well-preserved Roman arena, Les Arènes. This huge arena still hosts the Provencal-style bullfights (courses camarguaises) in which the bull is not killed. It is also the site of famous 1888 painting by Vincent van Gogh, Les Arènes. Extend your stay at this hotel!

“Would highly recommend to everyone”

My family and I stayed at the Best Western Hotel Atrium in Arles and loved it. You couldn't ask for a better location if you plan to visit the city of Arles. The hotel is centrally located so walking to all the sites is very easy and possible...not to mention that the market is practically outside your hotel. This is a definite must-see if you're visiting Arles. The other great thing about the hotel other than location is parking. The hotel has parking for your car which is a BIG plus if your traveling by auto while in Europe. The hotel staff were wonderful...very friendly and helpful, nice buffet breakfast, and kid friendly hotel. It made for a very pleasant holiday for both myself and my family. Would recommend to all my family and friends.

“Not the right Hotel”

This hotel is setup to cater for a business traveller rather than for leisure. I would go back for a couple of days only, as its lacation is very good.

“Good location”

The hotel was located within walking distance and had garage parking. Though that was an extra. Staff was very helpful. The room is sparse. So if you are planning to spend a lot of time in the hotel; then this is not the place for you. Otherwise, it was good.

“Good value & convenient location”

The location of this hotel is excellent: just two blocks outside the walls of the old city and within easy walking distance to the monuments. Parking was simple and the hotel has an attached underground garage. Free internet service worked well in the room. This hotel is not fancy, but it is clean and convenient. Good value.

“Good Location”

In the centre of Arles (although on the other side of town from the train station, so a 20-minute walk). 'Does what it says on the tin.' We were allowed to check in at 10.30 a.m! The pool was smaller than we expected.

“Dated, tired, dusty but centrally located.”

The bedroom was not very clean - I was able to write my name in the dust on the television - and the carpet edges were dirty. The air conditioning belched out great quantities of dust. The hotel was central, however, and the staff were plesant, bit it was dated and tired.

“Unhappy Arles visit.”

Hotel had inadequate parking. Unloading area was constantly full of tour buses. Room was minimal and full of smoking residue. Food at dinner and breakfast was terrible, only the one service person was a redeemable factor. Front desk service was just barely acceptable. Worst experience ever in France.

Area:

Arles, France: Founded by the Greeks in 600 BC, Arles then became ‘little Rome’. Roman remains include a remarkably intact arena (now used for bullfights), baths, theatre and a vast necropolis. But this compact city on the Rhône is perhaps best known for its colourful houses and winding streets, depicted in so many of Van Gogh’s canvases during his prolific period here. The excellent Van Gogh Trail is marked by plaques embedded in the footpaths.
