“Fantastic find”

Booked due to good comments from other guests and really really pleased with the location and the service, although we chose not to eat at the hotel. Really great situation, right on the quayside, with a fabulous choice of restaurants within easy walking distance. We loved our time in Marseille and would definitely visit again.

this a really nicely refurbished hotel, the standard is well up to 4 stars. Everything in previous reviews is perfectly accurate except I found the air-con to be very efficient. Only problem was that the 'superior room' was in fact facing a wall at the back whereas i had expected a view of the port as per the expedia photo. It cost us a considerable surcharge to get a much larger room with the expected view, but it was well worth it.

“Vieux Port excellent location”

This hotel was easy to find, excellent location, and reliable staff (information and service). Cross the street to the Metro or to the fish market or to the variety of harbor side restaurants. Just a couple streets from the Opera House. La Panier walk or Old Vieux Port walks within 10 minutes and this location allows for easy access to other neighborhoods. Cross another street to a plaza with a dozen restaurants. Two key bus service stops within one street. The metro travels to central train station in two stops. A 5 minute walk across harbor-side to the start point of the city tour train. Bottom line - very convenient for the visitor to Marseille.

“Top location to explore Marseille”

What a great discovery! Cool, quiet and discreet, yet right on top of the old port's restaurants and bars, the Tonic Hotel is the perfect start to any exploration of Provence. Attentive and helpful staff, stylish, muted decor, comfortable bed, super bathroom with whirlpool bath, quiet and effective aircon, widescreen TV with international channels, wi-fi and good personal safe in the room -- nothing is missing. We spent four days here on our arrival and loved it so much we came back at the end of our trip. We even got the same room -- it felt like coming home. Recommended without reservation.

“Great location, good value, helpful staff”

The room was bijux, but modern and comfortable. The bath had a jacuzzi which was wonderful. The room was very quite at night; couldn't hear the street at all. The location of the hotel was great, near to the bars, restaurants and markets of the Old Port and only moments from the metro.

“Fantastic Hotel bad location”

The hotel is really FANTASTIC, you get more than what you pay for. The place has every luxury of a five star hotel. The rooms are huge, very clean and very modern. I only found 2 problems, 1.- The Wi-fi is VERY EXPENSIVE and there is no free internet anywhere in the hotel (there is a internet cafe 5 minutes walking from the hotel), 2.- The location is near the SANTS train station, when I stayed there everything was in construction and the noise started at 9 am and ended at 6pm. I wasnt a big problem but it was a little anoying, The hotel is very far away from the touristy areas but there is a subway station very close to it and it takes you everywhere.

The location of this hotel is perfect since it is right on the Vieux port. The condition of the room is exactly as is shown in the photos and staff are extremely helpful. Highly recommended. Great value.

“Great Location”

We really enjoyed our 2 short stays in this hotel. It's in a great position in the old port, but close to the main shopping area. Rooms are clean, quiet and modern, though bathrooms are on the small side. Views are non-existent unless you pay a lot of money! Staff are helful and friendly and the breakfasts are more than OK. They seem to close the restaurant and room service 'exceptionally' every Sunday though -- not a problem, there are tons of restaurants nearby. We'd certainly stay again
