“It is all that and more”

The Villa Glanum was a wonderful experience. The location for day trips in the Provence/Luberon area couldn't be better. The hotel staff happy to oblige, the rooms wonderful and quiet. What a sanctuary after a long day of sightseeing.

Good food and wine, friendly, helpful staff, comfortable atmosphere and accomodations, stratigically situated for many of Provence's beautiful sights.

“Comfortable, convenient, historical”

This hotel is quiet and charming in a classical Provençal way. My single room, on the lower end of the price scale, was quite comfortable. The A/C system works fine, ditto the TV. There's a swimming pool: take full advantage on hot summer days! Meals are served outdoors under a leafy arbor and include substantial breakfasts and splendid dinners; lunch is only served on Sundays. The menu features Italian cuisine as well as local (Provençal) dishes, all well prepared. The house wine is not up to par: I preferred choosing from the extensive list of other wines available in half and full bottles. The receptionists speak some English, enough to get the essentials done. Everyone on staff was polite, friendly, and helpful. Note that the hotel's parking lot closes in the evening. Guests are provided with a code to open the gates if they come in late. Only very minor negatives I experienced: (1) part of the shower surround (a flange on the base) kept falling off: no big deal; (2) on the day I checked out, my suitcases were retrieved by an overzealous taxi driver on behalf of some other guest, despite the watchful eye of the housekeeper. The hotel owner was not happy to learn of this, was appropriately apologetic, chewed out the housekeeper, and managed to track the bags down, all in about two minutes; half an hour later, they were back in place. I was duly impressed. I plan to return next year, and beyond.

“Very pleasant place to stay”

We very much enjoyed the peaceful setting of the hotel. Room in the main house was perfectly adequate in size and both room and bathroom seemed to have been decorated fairly recently (great shower!). Loved the pool. Staff were always friendly. Breakfast is optional and can be served in the resaurant or the lovely terrasse. The restaurant serves Italian food, which we did not try. It's a leisurely 15 mins walk into the centre of St Remy which we didn't mind at all, but might not be convienient for anybody elderly / less mobile.

Great Hotel , beautiful location. Pool set in picturesque provence garden amongst the olive trees, room good , beds very comfortable. Nice fifteen minute stroll to town centre.

“A Charming, Convenient, Inexpensive Base for Exploring Provence”

Charming small inn with a lot of character, beautiful gardens with good sized pool just outside of the center of St. Remy de Provence, one of Provence's most delightful, centrally located towns with quality restaurants and great walking. Delicious, simply prepared dinner. Room was small and basic, but with French windows flung open to the garden,for this great value, we did not mind.

“Nice place to stay”

A nice, clean comfortable hotel, with friendly staff. The hotel is about 0.8-0.9 miles up a gently sloping hill from St Remy (a reasonable walking distance for an active person). We stayed at the Hotel Villa Glanum during late October. The hotel was filled to less than 25% of capacity during our stay. The only downside is that both the bar and restaurant were closed for the off-season

Really nice Hotel - ideal for a day by the pool (very clean) and as a base for all the local sights. Food very good - quite expensive but so are most of the restaurants in St Remy

“Little oasis in the heat of provance”

My boyfriend and I have stayed here twice. The first time we had a better room (overlooking the pool - the second time the hotel was fully booked, so we got one of the last available rooms) but both times we thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is clean, with comfortable beds, pretty surroundings and the pool is a big bonus. The restaurant food is also excellent. The staff do not speak wonderful English, so take a print-out of your reservation, but generally friendly and helpful. St Remy is a lovely little town (especially when the market is on - Wednesday's I think - the rest of the time it is a little dead (!) but still an excellent base for exploring the region).
