“Beautiful spot overlooking the Vieux Port”

I reserved on line and unfortunately did not get a good room. That room was "sad", dark, and really does not correspond to the standard of your hotel. After moving to a room overlooking the Vieux Port, we were extremely happy. Everything in the hotel was near to perfect: comfort, excellent staff (welcoming and very helpful), proximity of the city, view.....Two comments: the hotel needs someone to handle the guests luggage and should not recommend at all the restaurant "Les Trois Forts". Apart from the view, the food was tasteless and expensive...Sorry !!

Area recommendations

verything around the hotel is worth seeing: Vallon des Auffes, Corniche, Fort St Jean, boat trip to Ile du Frioul....a lot of beautiful sites.

“Nice hotel”

Hotel was great. It is connected to the Sofitel so it has all the amenties (spa, bar, restaurant, pool, etc.) Staff was very friendly and spoke fluent English (as we new only a little french). Was within walking distance of the port. The room was very clean and nice-sized.

Area recommendations

We really liked the the new port for restaurants. The cathedral Notre Dame was also very beautiful, and we took the tour train up there so we didn't have to make the long hike up hill. We also took a 2 1/2 hour boat ride to Calanques. It was a beautiful and relaxing trip. Also, on our last day in the city, we explored the old Port (across the port from the hotel) and there is actually a painted line and tile in the walkway to help you take a scenic tour of the city. It was helpful to ensure we didn't get lost and there were a lot of cute areas we might not have seen otherwise.
