Beware of Expedia's Fine Print

Posted Jun 27, 2015
The Aloft Broomfield seems very nice though we never left the lobby. We were traveling with 5 adults and our reservation for two 2 queen rooms turned out to be two 1 king rooms. Note Bene: Expedia reserves blocks of rooms without regard to the type of room. You think that you are reserving a specific type of room, but as it says in the fine print, you are only requesting a type of room. If it is available when you get there, great, if not you get what is left. The desk clerk was very apologetic and was able to locate us rooms in a nearby comparable hotel that would accept the expedia rate. We are very grateful for his assistance and will likely stay at Aloft in the future because of his assistance though we will definitely not be booking through Expedia in the future

Even though I arrived late, the hotel staff was engaging and accommodating to make sure that I got into the room of my choice. The hotel is new in condition and the facilities are nice. Even though the breakfast is simple, it was enough to get the morning started.

Nice New Hotel

Pros: Brand New
Nice, brand new and clean! No place to eat cheaply close around. The check in person was a little unprofessional but that's it.

Disappointing Experience at the Broomfield Aloft

Posted May 27, 2015
Pros: Clean, modern decor; pool table and games in the lobby area
We checked in on May 22 for a three-night stay. We were first located on the third floor in an accessible room. I asked the young woman at the check-in desk if a shower stool was available, and she was completely in the dark as to what I meant. I thought it was odd that an accessible room did not have a shower stool and even odder that the hotel clerk did not have any idea as to what I was asking about. We had had a long travel day and retired early. Unfortunately, the person or persons above us were pacing back and forth in what sounded like army boots. This lasted for several hours (well into the night), and none of the three of us got much sleep. I am normally somone who can sleep through anything, but this noise was so disturbing that I was awake for hours. We were able to change rooms for the next two nights and were located on the top floor. The noise level was greatly improved, however, we were not able to get an accessible room. I want to note that the staff was very genuine and seemed to be sincere in their efforts to resolve our discomfort. It's obvious the Aloft Hotel is geared toward a younger clientel, and I didn't feel like I fit in there (we're in our early 60's). Also, I want to mention that it would be nice to have a separate light switch in the bathroom for the toilet area -- as it is, one switch controls both the sink and toilet area. These bright lights are disturbing to other occupants of the room when turned on during the middle of the night.

I loved the chic styling of the room! It had everything I needed for my trip, including a refrigerator, blow dryer, shampoo/conditioner, and an iron.

Centrally located very nice hotel

Extremely pleased with the accommodations. Comfortable bed soft towels. Modern conveniences. Quiet and within easy driving distance to Boulder and from the Denver airport. Plenty of shopping an restaurants nearby. Great experience booking through Expedia. And it's a Starwood property so we got points for our stay. A nice bonus. Only negatives - no continental breakfast provided free and the drinks in the bar downstairs were overpriced and mediocre.
