Strangely located and yet, convenient!

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: location, room, balcony, price
Cons: Nothing needs improvement. Keep doing a great job and maintaining this classic property.
Location: Drive Hwy 119 to Golden or Estes Park (beautiful drives). Trail Ridge Rd. Pearl St. Mall is a quick & easy drive -- lots of good restaurants.
Great motor lodge-type hotel. This place was a little hard to get to but worth the effort. It is conveniently located (once you know the back route) just off 30th St and an easy drive to restaurants, the Pearl St Mall, and other popular businesses. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless. All rooms here have balconies with furniture and a view of the Front Range. What more could you want?

Disappointed. Rooms need to be updated.

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: Nice staff
Cons: Updated rooms and more diligent cleaning of them!
Location: Everything is close - food, shopping, etc. Very convenient to all
The pictures look amazing so we were very disappointed when we arrived in our room. The shower had black mold in the tile grout lines and corners of the floor and tub. My 3 yr old had BLACK feet after walking around the room for the day - BLACK, as if she were walking outside on the pavement. GROSS! I took a shower with my flip flops on. There is a mini fridge, but you have to pay EXTRA if you want a microwave. Also, the doors must be slammed to close, so you hear every guest open and close their room door. The walls and ceiling have very little insulation, so we were not able to get a good nights rest, as it sounded like people were going to fall through the roof when you slept. You hear EVERY footstep, door, and car. Plus, every door leading in to the building, pool, etc, requires a 4 digit code and then you have to turn the lock and pull open the door - doesn't sound like much, but when you have kids and full hands, it's really a pain in the rear! Overall, the actual room was nothing like the pictures and we were VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Not a plus hotel

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: the breakfast was okay
Cons: Atmosphere was not comforting or secure feeling.
Not what we expected for the money. Staff was not friendly in any way. We were challenged about our reservation when we checked in, Our room was in another building and there was no elevator. Security system had duct tape over the door. Cleaning staff came at 8:15 am. ?? Screaming guests in next room had the cleaning staff cowering down the hall. Best Western Minus would be more accurate.

Nothing out of the ordinary, except we found lipstick on one of the coffee cups in our room.

Close to the University of Colorado - Boulder

Posted May 30, 2014
Pros: I stayed at the hotel for four nights while attending meetings at the University during the day. It was close dining & provided complimentary breakfas
The close proximity to the University of Colorado - Boulder made this an excellent choice for me.

Thank you for your compliments. With the University of Colorado campus just across the street from us, we see a lot of guests coming through for a visit. Glad to hear it worked well for you!
