Not the Valentine's Day retreat we were hoping forPosted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: The rooms are clean, beautifully decorated, and spacious.Beds are extremely comfortable.Breakfast buffet is the best in town and morning servers rock!
Cons: Clean and stock the pool area. Find more attentive bartenders. Check in on guests after maintenance has visited.
Location: Try Gordon Biersch for dinner and drinks! Great food and awesome beers.
Let me preface this by saying my husband and I have stayed at this hotel in the past and have been more than happy with our experience there, which is why we chose to stay there again. Unfortunately, this visit was filled with a series of unfortunate circumstances that will keep us from returning in the future. The door knob to our room fell off and instead of switching our rooms, we had to sit and wait for a half hour while maintenance replaced it. We ate dinner at the bar and the service was pretty lacking. The bartender seemed quite frazzled. The restaurant manager seemed to be doing more work than anyone else. He was very friendly and cleaned the bar where we were sitting (which was covered in red wine from a previous patron) and took our dinner orders. We only had one drink with our dinner because we were never offered another one. We decided to try out the pool after dinner but there were no towels, except for the dirty ones thrown all around the floor. I called the front desk to request some but after waiting 20 mins, we gave up and went to bed. In the morning, we had the breakfast buffet and were pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing and the service was top notch! As good as the breakfast was, it didn't make up for our lackluster evening. Although the rooms are 5 star, the service at this hotel was most definitely not. If you just want a beautiful room, with a cozy bed...stay here! If you want the whole 5 star experience, go to the Omni.

Off-season construction cold floors, limited viewsPosted Jan 27, 2014
Pros: Generous room size with sitting area. Friendly staff. Pleasant decor. Nice bar. Not crowded.
Cons: I presume the renovation will cure the too-cold floors and make higher-up rooms available.
Location: Very convenient to shopping and we were able to find a restaurant (Benihana) open on Xmas Eve!
This is my second Xmas stay and I'd come back again. They were remodeling, so not all floors were available (I was on 3) and the frame of the building seemed colder than last year, even though the weather was warmer--no matter what the thermostat setting the floor was cold. But the room was immaculate, spacious and the view pleasant. The Flatz restaurant/bar has an unfortunate name but decent cocktails (leaning towards whiskey rather than white spirits) and good food.

A Holiday shopping weekendPosted Dec 18, 2013
Pros: Location and room size. One fun aspect - there is a large prairie dog village next to the property and they were fun to watch as they enjoyed the sun
Cons: Microwave and sink outside of the bathroom need to be added.
Location: Close to Boulder and Denver. Large shopping malls across the street from the hotel.
We stayed at this hotel because it is close to Denver and Boulder shopping and that was the purpose of our trip. Our king suite was nice and the price for Friday and Saturday nights was great. Staying there on week nights was considerably more expensive. Although the room was nice and it had a refrigerator, no microwave and no sink outside of the bathroom were available. Since we had looked forward to staying in and enjoying finger food one evening, the lack of microwave and sink were an inconvenience. After dinner, our left-over veggies froze in the refrigerator - not something we have experienced in other hotels.

We had a wonderful girl's weekend out of town!!!Posted Nov 23, 2013
Pros: It was nice to stay in a hotel with an unique floor plan. Lots of room to move around and it offered some privacy.
Cons: Not a single improvement was needed for our group. The stay was perfect, Thanks!!!
Location: Loved the Flatiron Mall, went to Bone Fish for dinner which was just down the road, easy to get to from I-25, the hotel was in view from the main road
The room was beautiful, great views, comfy beds, everything 1st class! Stayed for buffet breakfast and that was delicious. We would not have stayed without the Expedia discounted rates. Thanks for making this such an affordable experience. The location was perfect being across from the Flatiron Mall.

Cons: Nothing that I know of.
Location: If you need a shopping fix, or forget something at home, there are all kinds of stores nearby - everything from Nordstrom & Dillard's to Walmart.
My sister and I stayed recently to visit her kids at UC Boulder. It's about 10 minutes from the campus. I found a great rate thru a discount broker rate and was a bit hesitant. And pictures always make hotels look better than they really are. I'm picky when it comes to hotels & I was thoroughly impressed. The staff was really great - friendly, helpful. We had most of our meals out but had coffee in the morning with goodies from the coffee bar and a drink by the fireplace in the evening when we got back. The rooms were clean, housekeeping came immediately when we needed more towels, ample free parking and the best... the bed was SO comfortable. The lobby is spacious and pretty with plenty of places to sit and relax. This hotel had functions on both nights that I stayed but it was never loud. There were small kids in the room next door to us - I had no idea until we were in the hall & their door was open. Didn't hear a sound. They had Aveda complimentary products in the room too. LOVED this hotel and will definitely stay there on my next trip to Boulder.
