Good base for checking out the Peace River.Posted Aug 10, 2012
Pros: Very good Continental breakfast
Location: Excellent location to my destination, 3.9 miles to pick up my 57 Cadillac that I had dipped in Wauchula.
Best location for my destination. Night clerk was very helpful and courteous.

Would highly recommend this hotel!Posted Jul 4, 2012
Location: The location was perfect for our visiting of relatives, and it was convenient to local shops & restaurants.
Nice welcome by attendant, spotless appearance to entry, lobby, rooms & eating area. Had to leave a day earlier than planned, no problem. Only minor issues...dining area on Sunday morning had very little remaining when we came down to eat at about 9am and the water used for coffee smelled and tasted of sulphur. We just used our bottled water to make coffee in the room.

Unsatisfactory hotel managementPosted Jan 17, 2012
Cons: Customer service
Location: Bowling Green , FL
When I booked this thru Expedia I requested a room for 3. Wanted 2 beds and a cot or pullout. Stayed on the phone with Expedia and he verified this was possible so I booked this room and another with 2 queen beds. When we are on the way to Fl I call to verify when I coule check in and check on the rooms. The Best Western in FL stated they could not provide a cot or pull out in the room with 2 beds . I asked why this was promised when I booked the room. They said no one there said they could. Explained I was on the phone when I booked rooms and they called and verified this. The hotel was not very helpful, understanding or apologetic about the situation. The only thing they offered was to give us another room at the same cost. Called Expedia back they were the same way. I will not use Expedia or a Best Western again. They both said if I cancelled I still had to pay for 1 nights room even though this was not what I booked. Think they both do not know what customer service is.

Clean with no frillsPosted Jul 10, 2011
This is one of the few - possibly the only - hotel in this little town. The lobby was clean and cozy. The desk staff were young and seemed aloof and disinterested. The room was sufficiently sizeable to accommodate the king-size bed, had a fridge and microwave (a plus!) in place without having to request same. The pillows were great.

Mostly nicePosted Jun 26, 2011
Nice new hotel in remote location. Room very nice except hair dryer didn't work, and ice machine on our floor didn't work. I am sensitive to perfumes and room had been sprayed with Febreeze. Left a note for the housekeeper requesting no spray: she forgot and sprayed anyway, but did put the exhaust fan on. Very nice pool and hot tub!

VERY NICE HOTELPosted Nov 19, 2009
Nicer Upscale Hotel...Not much around it, that section of US17 is pretty rural. You have to go about 4-5 miles south into Wachula to get food. Staff was just okay. The rooms were very nice and clean. Big towels. Breakfast was a step up from continental. Dinning and Lobby area were also very nice.
