Food packaging (unopened noodle bowl) from previous room occupant found under bed. Front desk staff friendly and promoted activities going on in their town

The staff was pleasant and helpful, but overwhelmed when busy. The room was clean.

It was nice to stay close to the park. The hotel room was serviceable. Not amazing, but nothing wrong with the room. Easy access to I-65.

THE TOILET SEAT DID NOT MATCH THE TOILET (SEAT SMALLER THAN THE TOILET). BATHROOM DOOR WAS CHIPPED ALONG BOTTOM EDGE, AND HAD SPOTS OF PAINT MISSING. LOOKS LIKE THE CURRENT OWNERS ONLY WANT TO TAKE MONEY OUT, AND NOT PUT ANY MONEY INTO UPKEEP. I WON'T STAY AT ANOTHER ECONO LODGE.

We wish there's a microwave inside the room as other hotels that we stay during this trip which is in the similar price range.

what you see is what you get

Toilet wasn't fastened properly, sit and slosh. Stand and slosh. Bathtub was crusty and stained. Room had a funky smell, like they tried to cover up a once smoking room. Fridge was on it's last leg. Lights were dull and dim to cover the dirt. Would not stay here again.

Vacation 2014 disaster

Posted Aug 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
Drove 7hrs to get to my hotel only to find out that the hotel wanted us to get a second room or we couldn't stay. So after an hour of talking I had enough and emptied my wallet for another room. Next time I'll pay the extra money for a better hotel.

Cave City Econolodge

Pros: clean, cheap
Cons: not allowing cleaning personnel to dictate room choices above customer preferences
Location: Mammoth Cave National Park
All was ok for the price with the exception of not getting second-floor rooms, which were available but we were discouraged from securing because the cleaning staff did not want to have people on the second floor when first-floor rooms were available also.
