Very nice place to stay. Really good breakfast. Great coffee 24 /7. Keurig in room. Nice workout room. Indoor pool, but it was frigid. No hottub, but it didnt advertise having one. Felt very safe. I would definitely stay here again.

Multiple issues with building. No water when we checked in. Pool was 68°. That was very disappointing. Got ice and found a big in it. Honestly Not sure if bug was from ice or in the ice tray but either way was gross. Only positive was breakfast was good. Staff was very nice.

We booked in advance a hotel with a pool for our boys to swim and when we got there it had a sign on the door saying it was closed. Nothing was posted online or in Expedia about that. Wouldn’t have stayed their otherwise.

Exactly What We Needed
Holiday Inn Express in Horse Cave was exactly what we needed coming into Kentucky. We were looking for a one night stay in order to explore the caves in the area. It was good for a place to sleep for the night. Breakfast was ok and was offered from 6am to 9am. Plenty of hospitality. The staff was welcoming and friendly. One of our rooms had a sink handle that was about to break off. They were going to fix it, but we asked for them to do it after we left. Also, they have "hotel cats" that hangout in the front parking lot. Definitely a bonus for my kids as they were missing their cats from home.

The staff was great. The room was not. There were scuffs on every door from the luggage carts. The ceiling was dirty, the shower ceiling was pealing and had some slight mold on it. The grass outside looked like it hadn't been mowed in weeks which is annoying if you have a dog, like we did. The property definitely needs better maintenance.

The staff and maintenance ALWAYS work toward a better hotel. They are always on call and do an excellent job maintaining the functionality of the amenities. Everything works! Reservation doesn't mean first come first served!
Booked this stay a month ahead of time. Drove 6hrs only to find out that the hotel had overbooked themselves for the weekend. Our reservation had been given away and they had no rooms available. I find this simply unacceptable! The front desk blamed this on Hotels.com. But I think the hotel is simply booking first come first served. Which I can understand if you haven't made a reservation a month in advance. But I had already paid for my stay. So I should have had a room and not forced to drive another hour and a half to find a hotel with a vacancy.
