under re-construction

Posted Jan 6, 2014
Pros: Room stay was lower priced than other hotels like Holiday-Inn Express in Bowmanville, ON.
Cons: Stay closed until Best Western Takeover and Renovations totally complete.
Location: Bedroom community with small town downtown and usual chain restaurants.
Two night stay. Room service did NOT make-up bed, clean room, or change towels for second day....room untouched. Hotel desk said cleaning lady went home sick. Sorry not an acceptable excuse, I presume this means the hotel would be unable to clean rooms after 11:00 checkout. Room appeared dismal and was lacking a number of small things like a soap-dish and facecloth hook in shower......had to drop soap to floor. Some moisturizer is usually included in a hotel also .

Great Potential

Posted Dec 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
Although under MAJOR construction, the hotel managed to offer a clean and comfortable and quiet room with no issues other than the parking and entrance and lobby were compromised due to the renovations. Can't wait to see the final!

Under construction but does work.

Posted Nov 11, 2013
Pros: Staff and renovated room
Cons: the construction
Location: Nice hiking zone in the park. Good fish and chip spot downtown.
The hotel is under major construction which is a bit of shock at first. The pleasant hotel staff will show you the back room which has been renovated. The rooms there are fine - probably 20 in total. There's no noise to worry about. Breakfast was only ok. No proteins just cereal, fruit and variety of carbohydrates. They really need to get busy finishing the construction in order to recommend the place.

Staff really friendly

Posted Nov 8, 2013
Pros: close to 401, breakfast included, free parking, good customer service
Cons: finish the renovation as soon as possible, there were not bath tub!!!!
Location: it was close to the highway
it was ok, the room were clean, the staff were friendly, the only thing I didn't like was the renovation. The lobby was not inviting at all because of that renovation. It was very cold in the lobby so the staff has to go wait in the other room were the temperature was fine. I don't blame her, she could stay in the cold. the management should make sure that the staff works in a good environment so everybody will be satisfied. Thanks

Couldn't give a best rating because it was under construction. Rooms were really nice with full kitchen and set up. People very friendly and love the fact it was pet friendly came in handy.
