Was expecting better from Peppers. The staff were not friendly and the rooms were comparable to a motel.

Small rooms and bathrooms for the price

Posted Feb 3, 2015
The hotel itself and the staff are nice but you don't get a lot for the price. The rooms and bathrooms are tiny. The bathroom's finishings and fixtures were a bit low budget as well. Also there's no pool and you get old school keys rather than key cards. The reality is there aren't many hotels in the area so they can charge more than the hotel room is worth.

Beautiful gardens, but not a lot else.

Posted Jan 28, 2015
Pros: Beautiful setting, gorgeous area, lovely old building.
Cons: Bigger bathrooms, more leisure activities. Definitely FREE WIFI at minimum!
Location: Surrounding towns are very pretty.
The rooms are quite small and there isn't many amenities eg gym, spa, pool.

A stunning vista

Posted Jan 12, 2015
Pros: The surrounds were magnificent and the restaurant provided wonderful cuisine with a wide enough variety to cater to all tastes.
The hotel is set in the most exquisite grounds and provides peace and serenity for all. The common areas are extremely well appointed and are certainly very inviting. Having made a visit in summer, I am looking forward to making a return visit in winter to soak up the atmosphere of the open fire.

Great hotel in a beautiful setting.

Posted Jan 8, 2015
Great hotel in a beatiful setting. Was a great base to do our exploring of the area. The only negative was the renovations occuring with the Restaurant - but once the constructionn is finished, this will not be an issue for future for people considering staying here. And as I wass out exploring during the day, it was not a huge inconvenience for myself (except the early morning wakee up due to noise). Otherwise - very nice hotel.

Country getaway.

Posted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: Historic location, classic old world feel, amazing gardens, reading room, abundant open spaces and close to the lovely township of Bowral.
Cons: Dedicated new channel made available. i.e. Sky News or ABC 24hr. More newspapers made available for breakfast dinning.
Location: Ideal location with some wonderful wineries nearby. Temperate climate to escape the summer heat.
A relaxing few days at a country estate to escape the heat and see in the new year. Dinning at the nearby wineries we were surprised at the quality of the food and wines made available.

Always lovely place to stay. Stayed New Years eve and didn't hear a word out of anyone. Bed not as comfortable this time around.

Beautiful historical building and grounds

Posted Jan 1, 2015
Stayed overnight at Peppers as we were attending a wedding in Bowral. My first impression was very positive. The building was stunning and grounds absolutely beautiful. Staff were very helpful and informative. Room was clean tidy and good size, but not as impressive as the actual hotel/building. I think i would love to return during the winter. I left positive and happy.

Nice relaxed Country weekend

Posted Dec 29, 2014
Pros: The grounds and building are wonderful, quiet, apart from plentiful birdsong.
Cons: Having a decent coffee to start the day as an option, instead of bulk coffee would be more fitting with the type of hotel it aspires to be
Location: Just out of town, close to all the Southern Highlands attractions by car.
Had stayed at Cragieburn for a conference 9 months ago. This time stayed in a newer room. Apart from a faulty toilet shut-off valve, all went well, the stay was great and very relaxing.
