“Great building but average hotel”

Based on Expedia star rate this one has 4 stars. I don't agree. Nobody helps you with the luggage, they don't give all the info you need about the city, (we were there during the White Truffle Festival located in Alba), the room was not clean enough (some maintenance was made and apparently the guy who did it use the bathroom, towels, shower gel), strange smell in the room, air conditioning was not working (outside was cold but inside it was like 26oC, we had to sleep with our window open). The restaurants inside the hotel are great, food is perfect and very important for this region, where you have the gastronomy university focused on Slow Food. The location is very good if you go by car, otherwise you have only one place to visit by foot. The environment is great, the building fantastic, very beautiful! I believe that for the region (small cities) you can't find better hotels than this but I was expecting more (maybe because I only stay in boutique hotels and 5* hotels). It's worth the visit, especially during the truffle festival on october and november.
