When we visited Braga this week, for a short break, taking the match into account as well, we stayed at the Bracara Augusta Hotel, as it was rated as the best hotel in Braga, as well as being central, how right was the rating.
The staff were all great, and went to extra lengths to attend our requests at any time, and they were so helpful, and provided my small group with everything they asked of them.
The restaurant staff and the food were all excellent, the choices was great, as well as the large portions, also the price paid was excellent, so overall an excellent choice for anyone who wishes to visit Braga, you will not be dissapionted.
Enjoy the experience.

"The place to stay (value for money with all essentials)"
It was a nice hotel, I enjoyed my stay. Its very conveniently located (right next to the train station and 5-mins walk to city centre) and is brand new. Staff have been very helpful, their in-hotel service prices are also very competitive. Would stay again...

This is an awesome hotel. Five star all the way. This is the second time we have stayed there and there is absolutely nothing negative I could say about it other then you have to pay extra for the gym, indoor pool and spa. Outdoor pool is nice. I ordered lunch by the pool and had one of the best hamburgers I ever had.

Excellent and poite staff who were very helpful indeed.
Beautiful location in the hills with pleasant surroudings, and very relaxing and peaceful.
It is an unusual setting as it is an old medieval convent/monastry converted into a hotel, but that adds to it's exclusiveness and attraction.
The hotel room balconies are very large with pleasant views.
Also an excellent restaurant next door that specialises in traditional Portugese dishes.
Overall a splendid stay and good value....

The reason for me to choose this hotel was the location. I attended a wedding in the church next to the hotel which was perfect for both ease of access and views.
i didnt try any of the food or breakfast at the hotel, anyway the bkfst was not included.
there is a 24 hr service, the members if the staff are very friendly and helpful and there is a superb hidden spa and nice size indoor pool with large jacuzzi all indoors with glass doors and amazing views.
the hotel is tranquil and the front side starts getting busy early in the morning when lots of visitors arrive to the church and surrounding gardens and lake. there is a cute cave and a cute coffee shop nearby where you can get a nice breakfast under the sun.
the gardens and surrounding mountain seem to attract lots of families during the day and lots of couples at night. including pilgrims until late.
the room was a double bed good size room and big windows facing the valley and the church large bathroom tv and wardrobe.
there is laundry service, mini bar and no ironing machine. there is limited parking spaces next to the hotel.
its a good location and a taxi ride is usually 5 euro to braga center.
it can get tricky to drive to the hotel specially if its a foggy night since there are bendy roads but once you do the ride twice you get to find hideaways other amazing hotels nearby and the scalator or water train which takes you to the hotel for 2 euro and its a beautiful trip.
