Great hotel and waterpark

Posted Jun 15, 2015
Pros: Very clean and kid friendly
Cons: Have the front desk and lifegaurds be a little friendlier
Location: The Safari North tour is great to do with a family, a little expensive but worth the money.
My husband, son and I booked a long weekend get away. It was the 1st day of their summer hours so the day we got there the water park was closed and did not open until 4pm the next day. That was fine since there is alot to do in the Baxter area. When we 1st checked in, the first lady who helped me was very nice, I asked if we could get a late check out and another lady working the front desk added in no that is not possible and was extremly rude. Everyone else who we encountered at the front desk was nice but her. Over all the hotel room was very nice and clean. The water park was great. My son had a great time. The only downfall was that the lifegaurds had no personallity. He is a toddler who likes to say hi and bye and they would all just look at him with a blank expression. besides that we cant wait to book another trip. We had a great time playing on their outside playground zip line, and water park. This was a great place to stay for the money and location.

Pretty nice hotel with a Northwoods vibe

Posted Jun 10, 2015
Pros: Comfortable beds, very clean looking overall.
Cons: Find a way to open access to just a basic pool and hottub during the "offseason" time & during the week...was very disappointed.
We stayed from Sunday night-Thursday morning while visiting some family. The room itself was nice and comfortable, however I did notice that housekeeping doesn't clean the floors so great..there were many little hairs/dust on the floor in our bathroom upon entry. Apparently you can't get both the waterpark and continental breakfast for free, though. On weekends if you stay, you get free access to the waterpark but have to pay for breakfast. If you stay during the week, you get free breakfast, but cannot access the waterpark area. Pretty sure the cost of a simple breakfast is much less than a waterpark pass...but this was not mentioned anywhere in booking info. There is no separate hot tub or pool area for use during the week, so we had some very disappointed guests. They seem to only have the waterpark open during the week in July and August....I assume due to to lifeguard staffing. This issue definitely needs to be addressed. I would not stay here again due to that.

Pros: The restruant and bar
Cons: Pool hours, when you bring kids a pool is a nice form of entertainment
I was disappointed that the pool was not open on a week nite. No where in their advertisement did it state that there were winter hours. We purposely came early to swim, huge disappointment.

Update hours

Posted Apr 28, 2015
Arcade was open when it said it would be which would be fine had the waterpark been open. Game room was closed early and wasn't open the next morning according to the posted hours that were on your website and posted on the door outside the arcade. Was charged for a 3 year old for staying with us even though our room was said to be for up to four people.

Clean Hotel with Very nice water park.

Posted Mar 26, 2015 on Hotels
We stayed for one night after an event in town. The water park is very nice and clean. There was adequate life guards and staff. I felt my kids were safe at all times. A nice touch was after a couple of hours they would have everyone clear out of the pool and the life guards would go phyiscally check the equipment to make sure nothing was loose or a potential hazard. The check in was rather cumbersome but they allowed us to use the water park while we waited for our room to be cleaned.

Water Park

Posted Mar 3, 2015
Pros: The rooms, restaurant, and the kid-friendly atmosphere.
Cons: Only the pool temperature!
Location: Good location. Never left the hotel.
We came for the Waterpark. The Waterpark room was quite cold and the water was too chilly for all of my party of 7. We went to the hot tub and our 2-1/2 yr old had icicles on his head with the freezing air from outside! We didn't end up using the pool much even though that is why we came. We loved everything else and would love to make it an annual trip, but the water would have to be at a warmer temp. Even a lifeguard said she is always cold.

Friendly staff, building layout could be improved

Posted Feb 24, 2015 on Hotels
Room was a little pricey, and the water park was packed, I imagine because we were there at the peak of their season. Would be nice if there was another elevator, and more entrances because if you are at the end of the hall on the forth floor it's quite a hike. Rooms were nice, clean, and roomy. Staff was friendly!
