Very helpful polite staff but ...Posted Sep 28, 2014
Pros: Staff Central Location Clean Nice Decor
Cons: Doors to rooms need something to stop them banging when close Breakfast chef that knows how to cook decent breakfast
Staff at this hotel really warm and welcoming. Comfortable bed, nicely decorated with recent refurb. Heavy fire doors really bang every time someone goes into their room. Windows not double glazed so fair bit of noise from street. Breakfast poor, undercooked, scrambled egg was a poached egg stirred up with fork.

Great location, needs updatingPosted Sep 8, 2014
The hotel was in the perfect location for a wedding I was attending with my young family. The room was ample, has lots of space, clean sheets ect, however, it needs a lick of paint, especially in the bathroom. The staff were accommodating, polite and completely run off their feet!! The man that checked us in at 2pm was the same man that helped us with a key issue at 12:30am And the same man that served us breakfast at 9 am!! That poor guy must be running in empty!! Breakfast was Ok, my son had eggshell in his scrambled egg, we had a cup missing on our table and it took quite a while to serve or even take our order. We were part of quite a large party ( all attending the same wedding) so it was known that there would be a few for breakfast I think with more staff on hand it would have gone a lot smoother. Overall though I would recommend this hotel. We slept well, in a quiet and comfortable room

Pleasant hotel and very welcomingPosted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Comfortable and clean
Cons: Attitude of breakfast waitress
Arrived at the hotel to a very pleasant welcome. The room was clean and very comfortable. The breakfast selection was amazing and plentiful. The only negative comment was the waitress at breakfast was very rude and snappy which is a shame as everything else was lovely. Also when returning to our room after breakfast to pack up ready to check out we found the maids already in our room changing the beds and had already changed the towels etc, this was an hour before we were due to check out. This was awkward as we then felt we couldn't use the bathroom before our journey home or even sit on the beds.

A Very Charming InnPosted Jul 19, 2014
Pros: old charm, great food, modernized room, and wonderful staff
Cons: AC or at least the availability of electric fans
Location: Braintree is a cute little English town with lots of shops and eateries. Forget the swimming pool in nearby Freeport.
The White Hart is steeped in history. Despite being founded in 1591 (yes 1591!), the single room I had was modern, clean and very comfortable. The staff was fantastic! The complimentary Old Engish breakfast was amazing! The only failing is that I stayed there on one of the most humid nights in July 2014. There is no A/C and no fans available, at least to me. So I had to leave my window wide open on a Friday nite which is a MAJOR party night in the downtown core where the inn is located. So, I slept poorly.

a nice findPosted Jul 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
I stayed at this hotel whilst on a course at Braintree college. The location was superb and the hotel was quaint. The room was a little small but was full of character, although it could have used a lick of paint as there was a patch of odd paint on the wall. The room was spotlessly clean, but could be a tad on the warm side as there's no air conditioning. The staff were very friendly to me but my mobile phone broke whilst away and a family member tried to contact me by land line at the hotel. Despite there being a phone in the room he was told that inbound calls were not allowed. I have never experienced this before and I would suggest that this is made clear to guests. The breakfasts were lovely as were the 2 evening meals that I ate in the attached pub.
