“The JR Experience”
Two good points: No one wants to shell out a lot of cash for lodging in Branson and this place happens to be right in the thick of things on Branson's main strip.
But then again...
1. Flat pillows, like putting your head on a large tortilla.
2. The heater. I don't know how the AC works, as we were here during the winter, but the heater only came on for about fifteen seconds at a time. It works fine, but if you have it on throughout the night, it can be really annoying. Light sleepers beware.
3. Maybe bring Raid? My girlfriend says she saw a roach in the bathroom. I didn't see it. She didn't seem too creeped out by it, so it must not have been a big one.
4. The Dripping. God forbid you sleep here after a big rain. Water was dripping from the railing outside onto the sidewalk by the door and you could hear it in sterling clarity through the window. This is fine at 2 in the afternoon. At 2 in the morning, you may just find yourself stuffing a bunch of room towels on the sidewalk just to stop the noise. Sounds silly. But you'd have to been there.
5. The room. We booked a queen. We got a double. But compared to everything that came before, it was the least of our worries.
Of course it might be totally worth the advantages of being on the strip and having a decent price. If you're making a long trip and have the money, you could always spring for a nicer place, but if you're strapped for cash, you might be okay with the JR experience. After all, it's just Branson.
