“Would happily stay again”

Stayed at this hotel during business visit. Arrived by train and pleased to find hotel right beside train station. Arrived at 20:30 but restaurant was open and I enjoyed a very good 'set menu' dinner with 2 colleagues for a very reasonable price. We all felt that the quality of the meal exceeded our expectation and all plates were cleared. Room comfortable, well equipped and quiet and good breakfast the next morning.

“Redhead Day 2010”

Perfect location for those who need a base of operations right off the train. The hotel was nice, central, staff was pleasant. The only 'but' I have is that they nickel and dime everything that would normally be included in a rate this high. For example, internet and breakfast. Expected extras were nice like the ability to rent a bike from the hotel, because it can be a bit of walk to the town center. Also had a friend staying in the newer section of the hotel, my room had a fridge, his did not. I had cheese from Amsterdam I needed to keep cool, so lucky me. A mini fridge should be in every room! And his room was a nicely appointed modern euro look that I was jealous of. He has already booked for Redhead Day or Roodharigendag 2011 and I will probably be back. But would like to see a fridge in every room and breakfast/internet included. Otherwise, wait till Subway across the street opens.

“Super staff doesn't make up for the rest”

Don't get me wrong, it's not terrible. But it's not a 4-star hotel in my opinion. I guess they have certain amenities that allow them to list as 4-stars. As noted, the staff was great. Very friendly and offered to help with anything I might need. But getting off the elevator, the hallways were scuffed. The pictures were hanging sideways. The beds were not very comfortable. Everything seemed dated. It was more like one of those Ibis type hotels, which are fine if that's what you are paying for. The location is convenient for people like me who take the train. It is right next to the station. and it's a nice walk thru the city park to the city center.

“Moving rooms after check in”

I checked in around 7 pm, then went out with some friends. returned in the early hours and found out after trying to get into my room for about 10 mins that my suit case was back down in reception and i have been moved to a new room. Found this a little strange as happened while i was away and new nothing of the move until i went to check my key, I expect more out of a hotel.
