Great in every way, but policy about internet access is unreasonable.

Great location & Great servicePosted May 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
Very nice hotel with friendly staff! Everyone was very helpful and it is in a great convenient location right in front of the railway station. Walking distance to everything. The only thing is the elevator sounds really old and our room was right next to it and all night you hear the elevator going up and down. But over all great hotel! would recommend this hotel to people

Disappointing, arrogant day staffPosted Mar 20, 2013
Pros: Opposite the train station, easy to get coffee and food late at night
Location: See above...still difficult to find by car.
Arriving late at night, our stay started off nicely with the night receptionist (the man with the beard) who had great manners and was very professional. Unfortunately the rest of the stay was let down by the daytime women at the desk who were very rude and unhelpful. Just despondent and uninterested in helping us. The garage never worked correctly and I was blamed for apparently parking on the wrong floor (...and guess who put our car on that floor...). A few minutes after handing back our keys and checking out, the receptionist totally blanked us when we told her about the garage problems and when my spouse asked to use the ground floor toilets. In fact the receptionist asked "are you a guest at this hotel?" - this is right after we checked out! It actually took 25 minutes each morning just to get our car out of the garage. I should also mention that both nights were spent being awakened abruptly and constantly by various men slamming doors and shouting in the hotel hallway. We stayed here a couple of years ago and were awakened by the room service staff opening our door at 8am without knocking, ignoring the 'do not disturb' sign outside. I have already spoken to a friend who recently had the same experience and will not be staying here again. It's a shame because the hotel looks so nice from inside the reception.

Nice rooms, friendly service, but loud on weekendsPosted Aug 22, 2012 on Hotels.com
The Star Inn is a quality hotel right across the street from the Bahnhof. The rooms were clean and spacious; the front desk personnel very friendly and courteous. Would have been an outstanding place to stay during the week; however, we stayed there on a Friday and Saturday night. Outside of the hotel in the street, the youths gathered to party both nights until 6 AM, screaming, yelling and breaking bottles. Can't believe the police never dispersed them. We had to request an inside room the 2nd night there which was much better.

Superb value very spaciousPosted Aug 1, 2012 on Hotels.com
Bremen does not have a great deal to offer the tourist! It is a clean and generally attractive town with some lovely old buildings, however there is not much to visit in terms of galleries etc and those there are do not cater for the non german speaker. That said it is very attractive, very safe and so long as you have good weather wandering around the streets and parks is a most pleasant way to spend a couple of days. I booked a couple of nights at the Star Inn which is right oppositethe main station, from the airport just hop on a number 6 tram and it takes about 15 mins and costs 2.35 euro, just go to the last station and when you get off the hotel is directly in front of you. We had booked a twin room and these are the largest with 2 very large single beds, great aircon, fridge and excellent double glazing so the trains really will not bother you at night. Locally there are loads of places to eat and drink and the snack bar on the corner is excellent value and serves great food and pizza till the small hours with a small dining area inside or a table area outside. In town there are loads of restaurants so you have a massive choice including the ancient Ratskeller, which though pricey is fantastic and really does have atmosphere. One of the. Few negatives about Bremen is the number of destitute people on the street, though never threatening it is a sad indictment that such a rich and prosperous town does not seem to help or deal with this

Great hotel for a family.Posted Jul 30, 2012
Location: Opposite main station, near trams, next door to quiet restaurants.
We have stayed before 2 adults and 2 children. Staff were excellent and helpful and spoke English. The location is central with the trams stopping across the square. Catch one from the airport to right outside the door. We will be back for a third time.

Very happy with the Star Inn HotelPosted Jul 10, 2012
Pros: Great value.
Cons: Lift a little small.
Very good value. 100 yards from the railway station but very quiet. The rooms are surprisingly large. Staff are very helpful.

This is a bare-bones budget hotel. The location across the street from the rail station is convenient. But the "non-smoking" room stank of stale cigarettes, the room was hot and stuffy, beds were not great. What they call a "kitchen" is just a little refrigerator, and the breakfast is way over-priced. Carpets in the halls are worn and the elevators only work some of the time. Keep your expectations low here.
