Staff at this place are amazing and can’t do enough for you, rooms are always spotless. Food is very hit and miss, can be good or can be bad depending on what you order from the very limited menu that apparently is meant to change monthly but it doesn’t. Main reason to go to this hotel is the staff are great, might be worth eating elsewhere though.

Very basic breakfast, a noisy and slow serving bar and very basic rooms masked by what is undoubtedly a grand building. Staff seemed a little tense, overall, too.

Stayed one night. Hotel looks great from outside but entrance filled with tacky Xmas decorations in November. Staff were nice, but age of hotel meant getting to the room difficult as no lift and parts like a rabbit warren. Wi-Fi in room was very poor. Breakfast ok. Used their gym but it was untidy, not cared for.

We stayed here around September 23. The staff were lovely, and I'd only come back due to them, you can tell this place had its hay day back when it was first built, sadly, now its a shell of its former self. No air con in any room, and only small desk fans were issued per room, our room was on the second floor, and when you walked in it was a lazy 25-27 degrees!!!!. The staff were helpful enough to track down a spare fan, but yeah ... old tired and had it id say about this place.

Overall, we had a lovely stay. Staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. The hotel looks lovely inside and out. The food was excellent well prepared and presented. The only negative opinion i would say is the rooms could do with a little renovation and updating. Would recommend and return.

Disingenuous at best
The hotel is lovely from the outside, the grounds are stunning and the staff are very welcoming. The rooms, however, are in desperate need of an upgrade. The contrast between the rooms shown online and the room I got couldn’t be further apart. No wifi, outdated decor, broken TV. If I’d booked this for a leisurely stay I would be asking for my money back. £129 for what I got it scandalous. Beer was flat, food was mediocre but the staff are a credit to the hotel. Was over the moon to finally check out after a two-night stay. Never again !

The property and service was good but they take a £50 deposit on top of the price which still hasn’t be returned yet. Very disappointing that they don’t trust customers especially when you are paying well over £100 for the rooms.

Breakfast was awful. Bacon had lots of fat that was raw, hash browns tasteless, hard and dry. No one asked how it was and when complained just said sorry. Do not waste your money on breakfast!! The expresso martini was also a waste of money, tasteless.

Nice enough hotel, friendly staff. Not a great business stay, no phone signal so expected usable wifi...unfortunately this didn't reach my room. TV had no signal either, so a very quiet evening! Very disappointed to receive an email direct email from the hotel suggesting I cancel my booking with hotels.com and rebook directly (the same price). Huge lack of integrity there

The staff at the hotel are really friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our stay. The room was nice but the bathroom could have done with a slight upgrade. I would stay there again.

Service was a bit slow, especially booking in. The gym is quite "basic" and I think it might be time to put the treadmill out to pasture but it served its purpose. Generally the hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were generally friendly and helpful.

Room 101 has sick stains on the carpet The sheets had blood speckles I didnt sleep in the bed Over all the room was dated and not as clean as i would expect.
