Great Hotel in a great location!

Pros: The swimming pool, breakfast, staff and location
Location: Brighton Beach
Great check-in staff, duty manager was amazing and very accommodating. The room was simple, but well laid out and had everything we needed. Balcony was a good size and the bathroom was old school, but clean and compact. Buffet breakfast was amazing, eggs cooked to order, espresso coffee and the best view of the beach ever!

Never trust Novotel Hotels with your credit card!

Pros: Nothing that outweighed the negative payment experience.
Cons: Payment records and credit card charging. It appears the Novotel charge first (and again) and ask questions later.
Location: Brighton Le Sands is a beautiful location, it is a shame this is the only hotel nearby.
While our room was clean and had a nice view, as always when we stay at a Novotel Hotel, trying to pay for the room was a nightmare. We stayed on our wedding night and when we checked out the next day, the staff were adament the room had already been paid for. I booked via expedia without paying so I questioned this with the staff who checked and double checked and said the room had been paid for. Three weeks later when we got back from our honeymoon, with no warning, the Novotel charged my credit card twice for the room. No phone call to say they had made a mistake and now needed payment (which I would have been happy to make), nothing, and to be mistakenly double charged was the last thing I needed. The disappointing thing is this is EXACTLY what happened to my sister when she stayed at the Novotel in Wollongong the night of her wedding 18 months ago but we still went ahead with a Novotel hotel. The staff in the accounts department were friendly and resolved the issue quickly but it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Close to bridal shop I needed to visit.

Excessive street noise even though on the 9th floor Room service staff loud at other room doors which woke us early Could hear all guest noise in neighboring room Bathroom dirty Tv didn't work on 1st night Restaurant staff member didn't let us know there was a kids menu available, had to ask Buffet over priced for food that was on offer-limited meats Parking options weren't mentioned and we paid $55 on 1st night until we rectified the issue

This hotel is looking a bit tired and could do with a refurb. However I could not fault the staff and the way we were treated, nothing was too much trouble, they went above and beyond from the Reception staff to the Dining/Catering staff. Would recommend

Good hotel

Good hotel. Clean . rooms were good. Comfortable beds. Staff great. I left some cloths in cupboard. Was no problem for them to send them to me free of charge

Nice neighborhood, smelly hotel

We needed to stay overnight unexpectedly, as our flight out of Sydney was cancelled. Knowing this property was an Accor property we booked this room from the airport. What a huge disappointment! The hallways and rooms smell dirty. The room had a bed and one chair. The bathroom sink stopper was permanently closed so we could not use the sink. It was very over priced for the quality and level of service.

Beautiful scenery from the balcony. Had a lovely big terrace for entertaining. Very enjoyable time.

The hotel and staff were very nice. We chose it because is was close to the airport but the hotel did not offer any transportation to the airport. To get to the harbor area in Sydney you have to take a bus and the train or a $60.00 taxi. The surrounding area does not offer many good shops or restaurants. However, the hotel itself was clean and very pleasant.

WE SPENT ONLY ONE NIGHTwe paid extra 50 dollars for an earlier check in. They upgrade to a suite???. Corridors stinking of cigarettes smoke. No lights in bedroom, only the bed side had a lamp with a small switch. No Dvd palyers, No " safe" in the room for personal values. Nobody made up the couch bed after we kindly asked. Fornitur completely old and cheap door and wall scratched and ruined for an Hotel that was ated 4 stars. For 350 a night you can find better than this pseudo-hotel
