Novotel isn't what it used to be

Pros: Big room, nice view
Cons: Lots, in bad need of an upgrade. Oh, forgot to mention the coffee machines in the breakfast room, atrocious coffee, instant would have been better.
Location: Some nice cafes around the corner and the beach location is nice. Proximity to the airport is not an issue, planes are seen not heard.
Novotel used to be a consistent 4 star hotel experience. The Brighton le Sands property was very disappointing. In bad need of an upgrade, room was big but worn, noisy aircon, sparsely stocked minibar, no internet or wifi (amazing in this day and age), room service took 4 phone calls and 20 minutes just to order, and the Pizza I ordered was clearly slapped together by an apprentice chef with no supervision. And when will Australian hotels get rid of Movielink and at least offer a digital quality service, let alone a decent channel selection and get rid of those rip off movies. Back to my good old B & B when I am next in Sydney!

Loved loved the upgrade

Great stay view was lovely - room needs to be refreshed- paint wallpaper etc- (the overhead bedroom light didn't seem to work- only the lamp)-balcony needs an umbrella for sunshade- food was nice- most of the staff were professional - sometimes a bit distracted because busy or chatting too much to other guests when guests needed there attention(dining- breakfast) buffet at night -(staff more attentive-)was delicious as was breakfast- a great stay felt like a real break- very nice location and good eating out options and handy supermarket

Overrated Hotel Close to the Beach

Pros: The front desk were annoyed at my calls regarding getting the WIFI working (which the room brochure said it did), so they gave me free internet!! :)
Cons: As above. Needs a redecoration. Or Else lower prices to make it more realistic to what it actually is.
Location: Close to the airport, which is good. Nice Ocean Side Hotel.
Was looking forward to a classy weekend at this hotel, attending a conference. The pictures depicted a very nice upmarket hotel. However it was very run down and tired looking. The glass in our room was dirty and we had a ocean view room, however it looked out to a garden of weeds. The condition of the room was very dated and poor workmanship in addition to old cupboards and furniture. It seemed like 20 years ago it would have been a grand place but hasn't been maintained.

Great hotel. Comfortable, clean, excellent views.

Pros: Friendly staff, wonderful views, immaculate cleanliness of the rooms and a terrific buffet breakfast. Quietness of the rooms and the thick curtains.
Location: Fantastic location, directly across the road from the beach. Plenty of eateries around if you don't want to dine at the hotel.
My husband and I returned to the Novatel to celebrate our one year anniversary. The room we were given was fantastic! We had wonderful views of the beach from our balconies. We had asked for a king size room but what we were given was two rooms - the first room had a double bed, huge tv, desk, balcony, fridge etc and the second room had a king bed, huge tv and another balcony. We even had a spectacular view from the bathroom! The rooms were immaculately clean and in great condition. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Overall, we had a fantastic time.

3 Day Stay

Pros: Staff in all areas are amazing, friendly and knowledgable. Close to restaurants and the bay
Cons: I couldn't fault the place
Location: Close to airport, Botany Bay and great restaurants
Top level room with great views of bay. There for a work conference. Didn't need to go anywhere as this place has it all. Great buffet breakfast and dining areas. Rooms quiet and clean

Great hotel close to airport. Close to southern sb

Pros: Location suits us. Generally very comfortable.
Cons: General cleanliness. In our experience Similarly rated hotels in Singapore, Hong Kong and the UK are spotless.
Location: Stated above. Suits us for various reasons.
Close to airport and suburbs to the south which we wanted. Traffic congestion is always a problem but location is very attractive, I.e., waterfront and access to caf├ęs restaurants is excellent. Staff always willing to please. Air conditioning in room was poorish. Could not cool down the room. Cleanliness was poor with bits on the floor and someone else's hair tufts on the carpet in three separate spots around the bed. Amenities excellent. Breakfast excellent but coffee was one of the worst I've had in a long time.

Location of hotel was fine for what we wanted. However the hotel is tired, room was musty,furniture needs upgrading,carpets are worn & held together in hallway by tape.
