Magnificent lodge with many amenitiesPosted Jul 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
The lodge took Jerry and Maggie 5 years to build and the result is impressive. A log cabin exterior surrounds an expansive interior. The enormous fireplace has a 14-foot custom mantle. Sleeping rooms were very comfortable with large baths. Our room had a balcony overlooking the confluence of the Sandy and Salmon Rivers. A great place to stay if you are driving from Portland to Mt. Hood. Recommend the Rendevous Grill for dinner.

Unique Bed and Breakfast on Mt. HoodPosted Jul 21, 2013
Pros: Comfort, views, breakfast, lovely hosts
Cons: Better WiFi reception in the room.
Location: McNeil Point hike for serious hikers (10 miles R/T,~2000 feet elevation in total. WORTH IT.) Skyway Bar and Grill - GREAT atmosphere, food, $$
Our visit was in mid July 2013. We splurged on this bed and breakfast and it was worth it. The friendly retired couple who run the place were lovely from the moment we arrived. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable and the view of the converging rivers from our patio was spectacular. We needed laundry service and were given them without charge upon request, which was very nice. Breakfast was delicious and satisfying. We had an easy drive to a magnificent hike the morning after we came - google McNeil Point Hike and go for it if you like (somewhat challenging) hiking. The Jacuzzi was a real treat when we got back (as was the Skyway Bar and Grill in Zig Zag - highly recommended). The bed and breakfast has a theater (huge screen tv and sound system) and game room which we didn't use but looked very inviting and fun. WiFi was slightly spotty in our room but was easy to access in the common areas. Verizon cell and internet reception were fine. You will almost certainly get to know and interact with the other guests staying here at either the breakfast table or around the fireplace in the evening, unless you make an effort to refrain from doing so. We enjoyed the community feel and lively conversation at the breakfast table. The feel of the place is rustic, rural, and old-school while maintaining a high sense of comfort to the point of slight indulgence.

Home away from homePosted Jul 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
If you are looking for a place to hit the sack, this is not the best place to stay. This is your home away from home. If you are looking for a place to chill and relax, take a walk in nature and enjoy conversation with other guests and owners, this is the place you should stay. The owners were very friendly and attentive. The room was very comfortable and impeccably clean. We had a great weekend getaway.

Extraordinary visit to Salmon Sandy B&BPosted Jul 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
We had a marvellous stay @ Salmon Sandy B&B. Jerry and Maggie are wonderful and gracious hosts. The place is gorgeous, inside and out. It is located right at the confluence of the Salmon and Sandy Rivers, and there are great views. Our room was terrific. An added bonus was the breakfast at which we had a very interesting conversation with a well-traveled and diverse group of other guests. My wife and I highly recommend this place. It is within a 20 minute drive to Mt. Hood and a visit to the remarkable Timberline Lodge.

gorgeous...hope to returnPosted Jul 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
Jerry and Maggie were terrific hosts. The lodge built by Jerry is a tribute to craftsmanship and the setting is beautiful at the convergence of two rivers. The location is convenient to Mt. Hood and the outdoor activities of the area. We had dietary issues and Maggie was very accommodating with terrific breakfasts. We hope to be back. Highly recommended.
