Good hotel but under 5s not catered for

Service/staff were excellent. Food was terrible (except breakfast quite good). Room comfy. No activities if it rains for little kids.

Hi Sunny coast family, Whilst we cannot control the weather we are very happy that our staff were so helpful during your stay. We have made a number of changes to our food offerings over the last few months and we are confident that these changes are having a good impact on our guest experience. Nevertheless we acknowledged that you were unimpressed with the food & wet-weather offerings and will add this to our customer focus program as areas for management and service prioritisation. Thanks for your candid and constructive feedback Kind regards Tangalooma Management

Average hotel

Big room however not clean. In the toilet there was a poo stain on the floor beside the toilet brush.

Overnight unnecessary for wild dolphin feeding.

Posted Mar 10, 2014
Pros: The only highlight would be the Wild dolphin feeding. The brief encounter of feeding the wild dolphins was fantastic and educational.
Cons: All year round kids club, perhaps? Engage a professional diving agency to run and maintain the dive. Reduce prices. High prices are not justified.
Was looking forward to diving the wrecks during our 3 days 2 nights stay. The dive centre was literally out of air with the air compressor broken and no back up in place. I would be even sorely disappointed if I had lugged our dive equipment all the way from home 7 hours by flight away. We then opted for snorkeling around the wrecks. Snorkeling excursion was limited to 10 persons per boat with only 2 boats available. The supply did not meet the demand to accommodate guests at such a big resort. There was no vacancy for us. No coral reef elsewhere so there was no where else to snorkel. Sea was flat with zero surf. Disappointed again. Wanted to rent a jet ski but was informed that jet ski rental were no longer available. Pfft. The rooms at Kookaburra Lodge are dated and sadly needs refurbishment. Was disappointed that the resort is not quite up to scratch to receive the more travelled guests from around the world. The less travelled would not know any better.

Thanks for your feedback, and please accept our apologies for failing to provide the level of service that you were entitled to expect during your stay. It is disappointing to read that the air compressor was not functioning on the dates you travelled. We have enquired with Tangalooma Watersports as to why this was the case, and will take necessary measures to prevent this from happening to future guests wishing to dive the famous Tangalooma Wrecks. We made some mistakes during your visit and for that we are sorry. We are listening to your feedback, and will take steps to avoid making the same mistakes again. Kind Regards, Tangalooma Management

We enjoyed our stay. Dolphin feeding is great. Reception area and casual dining area needs revamping. Accommodation rooms are large and comfy.

Great for a family

Posted Jul 3, 2013
Pros: Dolphins and wildlife
Cons: lack of heating inside; very damp when it rained
Location: Beautiful when the sun shines
We have stayed at Tangalooma many times previously, but sadly this will be our last time. The dolphin feeding remains the most wonderful experience, but the resort is now overpopulated and a bit too much like a holiday camp. I think this is a great place to go if you have kids as there is plenty to do, much of which is free. Do be wary though that winter travel means that many boat trips including whale watching and the sunset cruises will be cancelled, so you will have to make your own entertainment. The place is clean and the staff great, but the d├ęcor is looking a bit tired (we went for the first time 15 years ago and the interiors are basically the same).
