Great little hotel in a central location

Posted Jul 7, 2014
This is a great hotel, tucked away in a central location by St Nicholas Market. Excellent access to all the shops, bars and restaurants that Bristol has to offer, plus the harbourside and theatre etc. Our room was a little on the small side, so if we stayed again we'd upgrade to a bigger room, but it had all the amenities and the bathroom was excellent. We overlooked the courtyard which was very picturesque, albeit the fountain did keep us awake at night so would recommend this be switched off in the evening. Our room was a little hot, however a fan was provided. The kitchen area in the hotel was fabulous, and the honesty bar worked really well. We chose not to have breakfast as it was cheaper in the Source cafe next door (which was excellent too - a great little independent food hall). But from what we could see and smell, the food looked great at the hotel also. All in all, a great hotel in a great location, and for the price a much better option than a premier inn etc etc.

Roof Rocket

Posted Jun 21, 2014
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Nothing - I was really happy.
Location: Food market on the doorstep, Harbour and river close by, shops a stroll away.
I loved the location of this guesthouse by the market, close to the harbour and a short stroll from shops. Couldn't be better placed for me. The welcome was amazing, the interior very nicely done, breakfast great. My friends stayed in a regular room and I thought that looked really nice. But I came here to stay in the Roof Rocket - the metal caravans that are on the roof. There are 2 smaller and 2 larger ones. I was alone and was very happy cocooned in the smaller one - but my friends found it a tight fit. So I would recommend the larger for 2 people and the smaller for 1 from our experience. It is a real novelty to be in one. You do hear the pigeons and seagulls in the morning but I really liked this unusual experience and would definately stay again. Honesty bar was great, and the clientele was good - no football thugs despite them being around town.

Impressive high quality, low price

I was so impressed with the high quality of the hotel environment, finish, and service from the staff, but especially given the very reasonable low price. And the location is brilliant and has great character.

Comfortable

Posted Feb 7, 2014
Pros: The stunning breakfast, totally worth the extra £8.50.
Cons: All rooms having a bath as well as a shower.
Location: Lovely location right next to the food market, brilliant! Really close to the centre but not on a main road so no constant traffic roaring past.
Delicious breakfast. Comfortable and homely. Room a little small for the price. Tucked away down a little alley so nice and quiet. Thin walls however, so not good if you get a noisy neighbour. Friendly, helpful staff. Would stay again.
