Room very small for two people. Bathroom had a smell of stagnant water. Very unpleasant.

Lovely weekend stay

Posted Jun 16, 2014
I stayed with my partner this weekend just gone & we were very lucky with the weather. When we arrived for check in we were greeted in the car park by 2 friendly Labradors who escorted us in, which we ended up playing with each morning. Our room was small but very clean, oldy worldly with a qaint modern bathroom hidden away. You could hear people in the room next door - well giggling on the 1st night, which leads me on to my next point. They kept the doors open to the empty rooms, which seemed the majority on the Fri night, the only prob with this is you wonder why you weren't given 1 of the slightly better one's, (or 1 further away from other guests) having said that it was busy Sat so maybe the fact we were there for 2 nights was why. (All rooms looked lovely) The lady who runs it wasn't around much, not that it mattered to us, when we did see her she was very friendly. You kind of help yourself, use the kitchen and don't have to wash up. Good value for money and in a nice area, the cottage itself is thatched and beautiful, modernised very well! Had a lovely time & would go back & would pay the extra £20 for a better room. Lastly, my partner hit his head 4 times coming out of the low beamed bathroom. It really needs a 'mind your head' sign, seriously! - I did find it funny every time however :)

Lovely room in thatched cottage in countryside, pea

Posted May 29, 2014
Pros: beautiful surroundings, quiet and room was fantastic.
Cons: Just the breakfast
Location: Not too far to get to park and ride to visit Bristol
Overall really good but was surprised that did not have cooked breakfast and just told to help ourselves to cereal, toast tea/coffee, fruit or yoghurt.

Nice building, lacking in b&b services

Posted May 15, 2014
Pros: Nice building.
Cons: Service. More like a very nice hostel, than a B&B
Wifi was only in one small office and not in the bedrooms, bedrooms were not cleaned, bins emptied daily or shampoos replaced for the 4 nights were there, shower blocked and created an awful stench (which was promptly fixed), bathroom was tiny and the flush had a very noisy macerator, breakfast was from 6-7.30am and consisted of only bread for toast and cereal, no staff for hot food or beverages.

The wifi is intermittent, which is out of my control, when it works it is available in the kitchen and dining areas. Rural England is not servers well for telecommunications. I am dismayed by your remark about room cleaning as your room was cleared daily. We advertise a self service buffet breakfast, which is available at any time up until around 10am.

Very nice, very old cottage

Posted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: We liked the history of the place, we just don't have anything near that old in New Zealand. So it was great to get to experience this.
Cons: The only down side was the lack of WiFi, but as it said they had it, but the owner did say it was abit off and on being so far in the country.
Location: We didn't do a lot, but went to the Plough Inn in Wrington for a very good meal.
We booked this place last minute, when we got there, the owner was very helpful and welcoming and made you feel at home.

Beautiful Building

Posted Apr 9, 2014
Pros: The lovely old building and the overall setting. I would recommend to others.
Cons: The breakfast was average.
Location: Close to Bristol airport, but without the noise. Very quiet location
The character of this place hits you the moment you arrive. A stunning old thatched roof stone building set in a lovely rural landscape. The building is set out with traditional fittings and some old furniture which adds to the appeal.

Beautiful Hotel, lovely views

Posted Feb 15, 2014
Pros: relaxed atmosphere, lovely location, cosy.
Cons: The WIFI, as it did not work at all for us when we stayed.
Over all had a peaceful stay at Meadow Cottage, it is a lovely place to stay and the room was small but cosy and welcoming and clean. It does feel a bit like you are left to your own devices as there never seemed to be anyone around when we wanted to ask for things but when we did find someone they were helpful and friendly and I don't think this would stop us staying again as it was just such a pleasant environment. The owner has two beautiful Labrador dogs who like to welcome you when you arrive they are soppy loving creatures and do not jump up you or bark. The breakfast is a help yourself of cereals, toast, jam.yoghurt and juice and was available at any time you wanted it really. The only things we did find a bit problematic was the parking, the car park is small and if you are late back you might not get a space also we could not get wifi and my 4G could not connect very well either. We hope to go back in the future as it really is a lovely place to stay away from the madness of a busy city.

Cozy and welcoming

Meadow Cottage was located conveniently close to the airport. The host was pleasant, welcoming and very accommodating. There are two lovely dogs who enjoy a good game of fetch, they never seem to get tired either. The property is beautiful and in a very traditional home with gorgeous finishings. If you're looking for a romantic get away or just a cozy place before you head off to the airport this is the perfect spot!
