Peaceful oasis near airport

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: Setting, friendly, helpful staff, great food, easy and convenient transfers to the airport.
Location: Set in the countryside, so if you do not have a car, it is not easy to go elsewhere.
Our overnight stay here before a morning flight out of Bristol Airport offered us a quiet, peaceful oasis away from the travel frenzy. The pastoral country setting, friendliness and helpfulness of staff, and quality restaurant fare made for a great way to end our visit to Ireland, Wales, and the UK! What a lovely alternative to corporate hoteling.

Stopover for Bristol Airport

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Great hotel for being close to the airport. Only a few minutes drive away but in a quiet and rural location. Nice and bright room which was of a good size. Enjoyed the meals I had in the restaurant too.

Handy for Bristol Airport

Posted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: It is in a nice setting
Cons: Food in restaurant. Offer a full breakfast.
Location: N/a. En route to Lyme Regis
Nice enough rooms. Clean. You have to go outside, along a passage way and enter another doorway to get to accommodation. It is an annexe to the hotel. Breakfast continental only. Ate in the restaurant bur was very disappointing. The pork belly was tough, the French beans rock hard (not al dente) and the mustard mash had so much mustard in, it was inedible. The setting of the restaurant is very nice and also the breakfasting area. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall okay but not what you expect from the photos.

Excellent hotel if flying from Bristol

Posted Mar 21, 2014
Pros: Efficient friendly staff, rural location and easy to use airport transfer.
Cons: A couple of pot holes in the driveway that could catch you out at night in a sports car.
Location: Its in a small village backing on to fields The airport is 10 minutes away Bristol city centre is about 20 minutes away Cheddar Gorge is close
The Winford Manor hotel is an excellent place to stay if you are flying from Bristol airport. Peaceful, relaxing, friendly, helpful and accommodating in a nut shell. Efficient, easy to use and reliable airport transfer that takes 10 mins at most. Also would be a nice place to stay to visit and explore the surrounding areas. My hotel of choice for this area and would recommend it.

Country / airport hotel

Posted Mar 10, 2014
We stayed at the hotel for just one night. Booked the taxi transfer upon arrival for 7.30am the next day, only £7. Staff very helpful, hotel had a nice relaxed feel to it and the continental breakfast was just what we needed at 7am.

Lovely Hotel :)

We booked Winsford manor last minute for a one night stay after a flight into Bristol. The staff were lovely, the rooms impeccable and very comfortable and the breakfast they offer is high quality, very tasty and offers lots of choice. I will be booking there again.

How on earth did this place merit stars?

Posted Feb 2, 2014
Pros: Nothing except the ducks and geese in the garden in the morning
Cons: Everything
Location: isolated
Not a place to recommend. For an 'airport hotel' little concession was made for the business traveller: the kitchen closes at 8:30 after which it is impossible to get so much as a piece of toast. Christmas music in the cold and empty dining room/lounge playing at the end of January. Nothing (ever!) stocked in the vending machines. Room temperature unchangeable. The smallest single bed in the UK. Down country roads miles from the airport, almost impossible to find at night. Under the guise of renovation and new build, Fawlty Towers by any other name.
