Biras Creek Resort Amazing!

Pros: The beach was amazing. We upgraded to Ocean view suites which was well worth the money. The staff was helpful and really made the experience wonderful
Cons: Additional food outlets and an upgraded pool area.
Traveled to BVI to attend wedding at Necker, so we booked this hotel sight unseen and were happily surprised about how wonderful the experience was at Biras. Bitter End Yacht Club had received better online reviews, but after visiting Bitter End, I am so happy we chose Biras Creek. It was a better value and a much more intimate experience.

Not what it was...

Pros: Isolated and secluded which was nice and private. Being able to experience both Atlantic and the more quiete sound on the other.
Cons: Room interiors; staff quality; maintenance; reception area; arrival experience; departure experience
Location: Fat Virgin restaurant is outstanding; run by a local lady who makes some of the best Caribbean food you'll ever taste. Kiteboarding is excellent.
We were very surprised to find the entire resort out of date and not well maintained. The awards granted are clearly based on a more storied past before current management took over the property in 2009. Having traveled widely, we've experienced what we would call "rustic" and also "luxury" resorts; this one was touted as both but was neither. It needs desperate updating. Room interiors and beds were absolutely awful and had we had the chance t escape to an alternative location on arrival; would have done so. The person who toured us around the property and others like him; lacked any passion or real interest in the property and were recent grads from michigan st where the ownership is located. The greet person we met initially and at departure shared with us after we shared our disappointment that we was gladly leaving in a few weeks as well. Arrival was an awful experience where no one met us at the dock; when we came to reception after taking our bags up several flights of wet exterior stairs; were sent to a dreadful lunch side restaurant that was in terrible condition with poor quality food; we waited a long time to be picked up and finally brought to our room. Surprising when we learned the hotel had very low occupancy. Departure was poor as well; the hotel staff advised to depart on a 30 minute journey to the airport which included boat and taxi to arrive at the airport only 45 minuted before planned departure; we left earlier and otherwise would have missed our flight

Stunning and unique Caribbean property.

My partner and I had a very enjoyable 4-day stay at this beautiful luxury-rustic retreat in a geographically unique setting. A special shout-out to the general manager, the developer and the meet-and-greet personnel. We had a great time and would return in the future. There're however certain flaws -- all curable -- that keep me from giving the resort full marks, as follows: First, there's the lack of room service. This is particularly a tragedy because the ocean view rooms are lovely and one would want to relax there with a leisurely breakfast or an occasional snack or romantic dinner. Second, there's an unfortunate regimentation about food availability: on most days, all three meals are only available in the one restaurant on the property and only during a relatively short period. Third, the food is too expensive for what it is: largely in imaginative standard European/int'l cuisine, unremarkably made. (The wine menu is, by contrast, diverse and imaginative.) Fourth, the spa setting is cramped and devoid of an ocean view. It should be spruced up and better situated to talke advantage of the gorgeous natural surroundings. All that said, save up your pennies and visit. (But skip the meal plan.)

Lovely hotel

Pros: The rooms (especially 10B) were gorgeous, as was the view from the Hilltop restaurant.
Cons: cost.
Location: Take daytrips sailing, or snorkeling, or diving. Hobie cats, or Boston whalers are available, though we did not use them.
It's a lovely hotel, very secluded. Nearby there are a few hotels, but only accessible by water. The hotel is very expensive; I'm not sure it (with the food packages) merit the price of the accomodations. It was a lovely place to relax after a sailing trip. The hotel had a lot of difficulty verifying our reservation through Expedia, despite my calling after booking the reservation, and having an agent call the hotel directly. The Hotel still managed to mess up our reservation, and required more effort to clarify the problem (we paid for entire meal plan, plus room), but somehow the hotel had difficulty finding that reservation despite my having an email and itinerary from Expedia.

AMAZING VIEWS FROM THE ROOMS, BUT TOO OLD FASHION. THE RESTAURANT WAS TOO EXPENSIVE FOR THE FOOD OFFFERING
