Beautifull Beach not kid friendlyPosted Dec 4, 2013
Very nice hotel pretty grounds well taken care of . Beautiful beach but ruff water and some undertow . In front of Hotel the beach has coral reefs in very shallow water so you need to walk west down the beach a bit to swim were there is sand not rocks . The atmosphere is great but the restaurant has a limited menu very fancy small portions and no menu for kids but we did request a burger for my 9 year old and they order it for him but it had to be specially ordered since it is not on the menu . They did call a very nice taxi driver named Eric who took us to different beaches in the area . Everyone I met in the island were very pleasant the staff at the hotel were pleasant but stiff but that may be comming from the management . If you are expecting a full kitchen with dove and full fridge this place is not for you . There is no close store to the hotel and the pool is under construction . The staff did tell me that the summer months the water is much calmer . All in all it's a beautiful beach if your alone with your loved one . For little ones forget this one .

Nice hotel on beautiful beach but no pool or spa, both of which were promised on their website. Staff helpful and friendly.

Probably the most upscale on the Island.Posted Aug 14, 2013
Pros: see above
Cons: don't change it!
Location: GREAT beach location/NW end of Tortola is perfect. Close access to Carrot Bay and Cane Garden Bay (the Best!).
Note: review is from off-season stay (no crowd). No guarantees this holds during peak season. For Tortola, "best on island" is not that high a bar, but this place really deserves applause. The staff are really fantastic, they are very flexible, very willing to help, and just plain nice folks all around. I especially liked Leslie who seemed to want to make everything perfect. Dhanraj was also super; very kind man who was always on the ball. Welcoming lobby area + game room with ping pong, pool, fooseball, and library with free book "exchange". Monopoly, checkers, etc also. Bar area with an old happy hour sign but off-season this was closed. Small gift shop and sundries with a few grocery supplies, open til 830 PM. Handy. Clean beach/pool towels are encouraged to be exchanged after each use, so you always have a clean, dry towel. The hotel rooms were very clean, feeling quite new. Very nicely set up, beautiful views for each room, the crashing waves always coming through the windows/balconies. Plenty of easy parking. The pool is a tad worn but with floats, a nice swim up bar, and Ms. "Sweet 'n Sour" tending to the bar and grill there, you are transported to real vacationing. Plenty of lounge chairs. After being in the BVI 10 days, would choose ONLY this hotel for a stay on Tortola (but not for other islands, that is Tortola's fault not the resort's fault).

Too far from local attractionsPosted Jul 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel has a pretty location, a magnificent beach and awesome views. However, it is pretty far from pretty much everything on the island. I would recommend that anyone to rent a car. The taxi rides cost us a fortune. It was very expensive just to get around and it seems that they only had one cab driver that can take you anywhere. Also, they seem to be closed to the end of the season so they were about to shutdown so they were very short of staff.

Nice hotel, close to the beach, nice poolPosted Jul 25, 2013
Pros: It's Comfortable, excellent room, nice place and location. Sometimes we receive complementary snacks and drinks
Cons: Restaurant and better mattress. Pool needs to be clean it was dirty. Spa pool was out of service.
Location: The location is good, maybe include some water sports like "kayaks, paddle board, surf board or other". Quick review about attractions and thinks to d
Excellent! Every year I visited this hotel, love the location and hospitality of the hotel. Every year that I visit this hotel is always a pleasure and great people. We are welcome with a very nice rum punch. I have invited lots of friends and family members to joy us in a stay at Long Bay, and so far everyone loves it. It gives you the chance to go site seen in different island around Tortola. Great place to be!!!

Anniversary stayPosted Jun 27, 2013
Pros: We enjoyed everything about the hotel - particularly the furnished kitchen.
Cons: The in-room safe was not functional - the entire lock mechanism was missing. These should be repaired and made functional.
Location: We enjoyed visiting the Government House and the sugar museum.
This is a beautiful resort with well maintained, comfortable rooms. We had a pool side room with a completely furnished kitchen which is very convenient for a lengthy stay. Other than the hotel's restaurant and bar, there are none near the property, but all of these, as well as grocery stores, can be accessed by a taxi cab ride to Road Town. The property is located on the quieter side of the island. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Beautiful room and viewPosted Jun 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
The room was beautiful and the view of Jost and the sea even more beautiful. The room was incredible too. We were only there for overnight after getting off our sail boat and I wish we could have had at least one more night there. The beach is beautiful as is the grounds and the staff very professional and helpful.
