Excellent comfortable hotel - pool and beach

Posted Mar 13, 2014
Cons: Facility is aging as it is difficult to keep up an old property in the salt air.
Location: Great location in West End. Beautiful island with great water access.
Great service. Relaxing environment at small pool and beach. Excellent restaurant. Hostess, Amanda, and concierge, Abbey, are superb. We thoroughly enjoyed our one week stay.

Very cute, well maintained hotel with great views

This is a very nice hotel. We stayed in the cabana style room with a kitchenette and small living room. It was very comfortable, bit a little Caribbean chic with rattan furniture and lots of Palm tree prints which made it feel dated but I think that is just the style. Rooms were immaculate, bed comfy. Best feature of the room was the outdoor shower. The food at the sugar mill is excellent. It is one of the best rated restaurants on the island. My only complaint is that the one time we went to the restaurant for dinner we waited 15 to 20 minutes after we were seated just to have some ask what we wanted to drink. Once we ordered the food it came quickly. It is a nice spot and I highly recommend it. It has its own beach and it is close to long beach and two bays over from Cane Garden beach that is very lively.

Highly rated hotel, but probably overrated

Pros: A nice big room.
Cons: Overpriced for what you get.
Location: Check out Long Bay Beach Club, and Long Bay Beach. Smuggler beach is also quite nice.
We stayed at a plantation room which was across the street from the beach, but somewhat lacking in privacy because the windows face the parking lot. it was relatively expensive. The room was spacious and clean enough, although I would say nothing special. To be honest, because we spent most of our time not on hotel premises and exploring the island with our rental car, if we were to do it again, we would probably choose a cheaper place. The restaurant is famous on the island for delicious foods. We did not dine in here because it was actually quite expensive. we had fantastic meals at Bananakeet and Brandywine Estates.

Nice Retreat

Pros: I liked the peace and tranquility of the hotel and the rooms had wonderful views.
Cons: There really isn't a beach in front of the hotel, but this isn't something that can be fixed.
Location: It is located near the beach in front of Sabastians and 30-40 minutes from the airport. You can walk to the Bombah Shack if you need more action.
The Sugar Mill is located about 30-40 minutes away from the airport and the taxi ride will cost about $50 for two people. There is a man made beach in front of the resort, but you can walk about 1/4 mile down the road to Sabastians where there is a decent beach. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and has spectacular views. This is a great place to unwind, read a book, or lounge by the pool in silence. It's very quiet here and the food is excellent, although expensive. I thought the hotel was a little expensive for the quality of beach, but the room is quite nice.

An Aestheic Experience

Posted Jan 28, 2012
Pros: The simplicity and comfort
Cons: nothing
Location: the best place on the island
it truly is a veritable paradise there - no tv, radio or clock - relaxing, lovely people, gourmet restaurant, perfect in every way to get away from it all.

Tortola's best

Wonderful hotel. Extremely clean, beautiful, comfortable, etc. The staff is the best. Resturant is great and the food was wonderful. Can't say enough about this fine Inn. FYI: We are retired airline people and have traveled all over the world, and this is one of the best small cozy places we've found! Enjoy.
