The hotel only has two stars but ticked nearly all of my boxes. The room was small but very quiet (as requested), perfectly clean and the toilet/shower room was adequate if small. The shower was a perfect constant temperature. The staff were pleasant, welcoming and efficient. English was fluent. Our evening meal was lovely but we didn't stay for breakfast so I cannot comment on that.

We booked this hotel in order to attend an agricultural show in Brive, avoiding the hassle of hiring a car. It was a great choice. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was tasteful, not huge but with a big, comfortable bed and nice bathroom; good shower but usual continental, built-in hairdryer (not great if you want to style your hair).
We ate at the restaurant one night and had an excellent meal in pleasant surroundings.
Breakfast was quite good and served in a crypt-like room in the basement.
We would certainly stay here again.

If you want an hotel in the city centre with full 5* facilities then this isn't for you!
If you want a good value, overnight stop-over (all be it on the outskirts of the city) then this is a very good option.
Clean & tidy; Cheap & cheerful - what more would you want from an over-night, stop-over stay?

This is an ideal stop-over when travelling in France. Just 3 minutes from the motorway with easy directions. Very friendly staff. Had the benefit of a reduction on the menu at the Campanile just opposite.

This is a good place for an overnight stop over if you are traveling by car. It was very simple and had smaller sized rooms, but was clean, safe, quiet and comfortable. Although they did not speak English, the staff was friendly, helpful and willing to do some creative communication with someone who spoke very little French. The parking was free, secure and on the premises (unlike plenty of other French hotels). There was not much in the way of shops or businesses immediately (within quick walking distance) nearby other than a restaurant (average), but there was very easy on/off access to a nearby motorway. The hotel is on the outskirts of Brive-la-Gaillarde, not actually in the town. I used this as a stopover on my way to the nearby Dordogne River Valley and would do so again. The only drawback was the the reception desk doesn’t open until 7 am or so (on Sunday) - be sure you pay the night before and get your receipt if you plan to leave early.
