“We'll be back”

This was our first visit to Broadstairs. The hotel was great, the staff couldn't do enough to help us. It was very clean with great decoration in North American West Coast style. We did not eat at the hotel but were directed to a very nice Italian nearby. The breakfast the following day was excellent. We were also upgraded to a room with a sea-view. My companion left some shoes in the room and they were sent to us the folowing day. Broadstairs in an old-fashioned seaside town which is still a little down at heal but with a great beach, has no large amusement arcades or rides. I really liked it and it's in striking distance of Canterbury and Whitstable. We will hopefully come back soon.

“Not a good experience...”

I decided to stay at the Albion hotel based on the positive reviews on this site.My first impression on arrival was that the decor of the hotel reception and hallway was somewhat tired; the halls were narrow and dated.My room was clean and tidy, but extremely small.The bedside unit was too small to get clothes into comfortably and the cupboard was essentially an upright wooden box. The receptionist was both helpful and polite, although the bar staff were indifferent.The waitress serving breakfast was somewhat surly and was not keen to engage in conversation.Early in the week,the fruit bar and breakfast were not bad, in fact quite good.A variety of different,fresh fruits on offer.However,towards the end of the week, the fruit bar began to look tired and bruised, as if the fruit had been sitting out for a while.On one day,my sausage was clearly re-heated and cold on the inside.Overall, a disappointing experience compared with the reviews and will not be going back in a hurry.
