“Comfortabole, quiet and just far enough away from the hub-bub.”

The Mercure in Weld street is walking distance from "downtown" Broome and Chinatown. Just far enought away to be quiet. Good food at reasonable prices at the hotel restaurant and very helpful staff. The rooms were clean, of good size and reasobaly well appointed with newish furnishings; aircon worked well and quietly. It is not a luxury hotel but it is very comfortable and has an easy "Kimberley" outdoors feel. We enjoyed the stay much more than in "downtown" Broome. Rooms had Internet access but we did not use it so canot comment on it. A great place to be based while in Broome if you are using Broome as a jumping off point for the Kimberley.

“SO so”

Some of the staff were very offhand and didn't seem to care about service to customers. On the other hand we were very pleased to be upgraded on our return visit.

“Why the lack of maintenance in such a hotel ?”

. Pool is great , but maintenance has been neglected for a long time - a lot of tiles are cracked and some joints are not sealed . Door to Bathroom jams badlly, needs adjustment . Caps are missing at shower piping near taps

Location is very good,the service was very good, the meal at the bistro was rather expensive for what we got.

“A competent hotel”

A clean comfortable competent hotel. Service was notably good, and the pool was excellent. Breakfast was ordinary, and the buffet dinner choice was uninspiring (we dined elsewhere). The position is not central, though there is a convenient bus stop and buses during daylight hours are excellent.

“Basic Accom - more like a motel, nice pool”

I think the breakfast and dining room looked ok too, but it was about $17 upwards. My section had a small room.
