“Harlingen Stay in January '12”

Beds comfortable. Lots of pillows. Closet door would NOT stay closed. We had to prop it to walk by. Breakfast: eggs were dreadful, but fruit, juice, waffles, biscuits were good. Coffee was good & there was a nice selection of teas. Skip the eggs or eat out if you want an egg breakfast. Staff was very friendly and nice to work with. The "how to you like your room?' call 15-20 min. after checking in is nice in theory, but it woke us up from a nap. IIt would be better to skip that call. Room was very clean as was the bathroom. I liked the bath mat option in the tub. Most hotels don't offer a mat and some tubs are slippery. There were plenty of towels also. The small refrigerator and microwave are nice for snacks later. We will return to this hotel but will not use a booking service as the best rate was through the hotel itself. Also, I read a hotel complaint about lack of restaurants in Harlingen. There are many good places to eat if just you drive 5-10 minutes away.
