The hotel was very clean. The evening manager was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was well appointed and very large. The negative - my #1 sorting criteria to find a hotel on this trip was to get one with a spa/hot tub. This hotel listed a spa and showed pictures on the website. However, the "spa" was not heated or maintained as a spa. It was described as a "kiddie pool" when I asked if it could be turned on. If you are not providing a spa, you should not list it as such.

The staff was great and very accommodating. The issue we had was the smell when we walked into the hotel. There was a damp, moldy smell in the lobby area. Even the rooms had the same smell but not as bad. That was very disturbing. The breakfast wasn't the greatest, it was very basic and just not impressive.

I did not appreciate the receptionist that work at la Quinta in Raymondville Tx . He was so rude and when I got my room they had small cockroaches in the room 113 that I had booked through Expedia Saturday, July 29 to Sunday, July 30. I travel with two other couples and he charged me ten dollars per person more.

Our experience was horrible and I would not recommend this property to anyone traveling and needing a place to stay the manager was rude not only was he rude he double charged my debit card and blew it off like it was nothing, didn’t allow an early check in nor would he allow me or my children to use the lobby restroom after traveling 10 hours to attend a state track meet. I do not recommend this hotel at all
