Central quiet hotelPosted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Location and traditional building.
Cons: Lovely bathroom but could have benefitted from glass screen to reduce water spread from shower
Location: Central to Brugge so easy to explore everywhere. 2 hour guided walking tour excellent - from tourist information office.
Family run hotel with excellent personal service. Good choice for breakfast. Owner able to provide us information about good local restaurant rather tourist ones

ComfortablePosted May 21, 2014
Pros: The service and the breakfast which was included could not be faulted
Cons: The room we had needs updating and up three and a half flights of stairs.
Location: Easy walk to city centre and most attractions. Quite street. Can hear the bells ringing from bell tower.
Lovely welcome from owner. Very helpful. Our bags were taken to our room by the time we had checked in which was wonderful as it was two floors up. Breakfast served in a beautiful big room. Fresh fruit and juice brought to the table as you sat down.

Friendly family-run hotel in lovely buildingPosted Apr 29, 2014
The welcome was very warm and helpful, and the room was comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, with the fresh fruit salad a particularly nice touch. The area was nice and quiet, but easy walking distance from the main sights.

Great location, v quiet area but 5mins from main sq. V helpful owner. Only downside was the room was a little cold at night. Not a big deal though. Would stay again.

Amazing breakfast and servicePosted Oct 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
Friendly hosts and beautiful property. Breakfast was amazing -- log fire, and everything freshly made and served. Would highly recommend. Hotel is on a quiet street only a short walk into major sights.

Fantastic HostsPosted Oct 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
We wanted a more 'homely' hotel to stay in (rather than a big place with lots of rooms), and that's exactly what we got at Karel de Stoute. We were well looked after on arrival - our first priority due to arriving about 7pm at night was to find somewhere to eat, and the restaurant recommended to us was brilliant, exactly what we were after. The next morning, we were given a map and guidance of where things were, along with a discount card for some of the attractions. The street is a nice quiet street, with little traffic, but within 5 mins walking distance of the main square and the main shopping streets. The owner and her son (I think!) were very friendly and couldn't do more for us. The hotel itself is beautiful and well decorated in the 'communal' areas, with a gorgeous 'underground' bar area that unfortunately we only had time to go in once. The room we had - on the first floor - had an amazing high beamed ceiling. The quality of the décor and furnishings was adequate, although could possibly do with a refresh to bring it up to the beautiful standard of the rest of the hotel. It was all very clean though so no issues at all. It was a pleasure to stay here - thank you!

Great location, lovely hostsPosted Jul 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
We loved this hotel, it was a cute little place with really nice interior. A very short walk to the main square. The owners were lovely and waited up for us when train delays meant a late arrival. They also gave us tips on places to visit in the city and local events. The breakfast buffet was delicious and there was plenty of it. The rooms were comfortable. The cellar bar looked great but it was too sunny to hang out in a cellar.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The room was a decent size, very clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a walk in shower and was a good size. The room overlooked the street and could be noisy later in the evening from pedestrians and cars but during the night was peaceful. Breakfast was a typical continental selection and fresh orange juice and fruit salad is brought out to you. We would stay here again.
