A MUSTPosted Sep 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
My wife and I traveled to Brugge for our honeymoon and decided to stay in this bed and breakfast. GLAD WE DID. Its a beautiful castle, the owner was very kind and accommodating. The breakfast in the morning was excellent. When we told the owner it was a honeymoon, he set up spot for just for us in the morning for breakfast with a beautiful view. He definitely made the extra effort to make sure our stay was special. Was a beautiful view The fairy tale atmosphere made it a romantic getaway. Only downside is it is a little out of the downtown area of Brugge. However, it can easily be reached by bicycle or the bus making it a non issue.

Absolutely IncrediblePosted Jan 3, 2013
Pros: It's a castle... need I say more
Location: Beautiful secluded location but still close to Brugge.
Simply Stunning, my partner and I stayed here for 1 night and we must say it was absolutely faultless. Everything we expected and more, every detail had complimented the original design perfectly. With a choice of wines and Belgium local beers at the ready a very welcoming experience. The host was wonderful, the room was beautifully furnished and there wasn't a single detail left unkept. For people looking for a refreshing change and something truly special Kasteel Ten Berghe is the place.

Romantic castle in the forestPosted Aug 6, 2012 on Hotels.com
The castle is beautiful, nestled in the woods about 5 kilometers from the center of town. It can be accessed by local bus (1/hour), bike, private car, or taxi (~12-25 Euros). The hotel provides free bikes to those that don't have a car. The included breakfast was nice (typical breads, cheeses, meats, fruits, drinks.) The castle itself is a little run down -- it seems they leverage the concept of the castle, but don't really make an effort for guests. With very little effort, they could make it awesome: nice sheets and towels, nice shampoo, etc. but instead it seemed like the least costly option was provided -- we've have better amenities at most hotel chains. If any upgrades to the castle have been made, they are not visible to guests (plumbing, electric) so it just seems like an old run down castle -- which is amazing by itself, but don't expect luxury.

Castle stay near bruggePosted Jul 7, 2012
Pros: the ambience of a castle, minutes from Brugge
Cons: Bed could have been more confortable
forgot that this castle was surrounded by water, enjoyed watching the carp swim, ducks and geese protecting their young and the chorus of frog song at night. You wont forget staying here, has all a castle can offer plus at night you are left to your own devices while the manager is just over the road in the former stables. Provide drinks on an honesty basis at retail prices,

Kasteel ten Berghe in BruggePosted May 17, 2011 on Hotels.com
We only stayed one night at the castle, but thought it was wonderful! It's only a few minutes outside of Brugge, so very convenient to that town. The rooms were big and nicely decorated and the general condition of the castle was great. It was a very romantic place to stay and wonderful in it's authenticity. Staff was pleasant and very helpful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a different experience with charm and character!

Living like a KingPosted Apr 6, 2011
Kasteel ten Berghe was a little difficult to find because I arrived at dusk. It is tucked away down a dirt road in the woods. Once I found the small sign and followed the road through the woods I came upon a fairytale castle surrounded by a moat. The proprietor, Luke, at check-in was welcoming and extremely helpful. Our room was spacious and clean, with it's own bathroom including a shower. The TV in the room had a lot of channels and free Wifi is a plus! In the castle is a chapel and a self service bar. It was great having a drink while relaxing in the downstairs living room. The breakfast was fit for a king. The best croissants ever and served with Belgian chocolates on the buffet. Delicious! The coffee was excellent. The staff could not have any nicer. I will definitely be back.
