Great location. Expensive Hotel parking.Posted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: Location location location.
Cons: One elevator was out of action for the entire 3 days (Is it like the elevator in The Big Bang Theory?). It was a full hotel and we were on the 4th...
Location: Lots of historic sights, local to museum, easy to travel to other cities (eg. Ypres is 25 miles away etc). Lots of eating places very close.
Brilliant location for exploring Brugge. And the room is good value. I stopped with my daughter for 3 nights and we were very happy with the place. TOP TIP! Parking can be had for nothing on the outer roads and beyond the town boundary on the ring road if you're like us on a budget and prepared to walk or bicycle back. 25e a night for the car was a meal for several people. ANOTHER TOP TIP! remember where you parked the car... we spent ages trying to find it again! The hotel is fine and busy as you would expect. The rooms are small but its all there. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel as we preferred to be out in the town to eat so can't comment on the catering facilities. The staff were a bit 'remote' (probably because they're so busy with so many guests checking in and one foreigner is a bit like the next in that job) but one young lady on reception was very helpful when pushed a little for more information - she told us about the parking once we'd balked at the hotel price - initially saying there's nothing else but then telling us about going a little way out of town - it might be hotel policy in that sense to capture every Pound! Local maps are free from reception. Unloading when you arrive isn't easy as the streets are small and the town is sooooo busy (AUGUST) - and to be honest that was my only concern. We took bicycles and parked them for free in the underground car park. Otherwise its a great location, nice hotel and we would return without hesitation.

Great location.Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: Proximity to lots of attractions.
Location: Lots of restaurants and bars along with all Brugge attractions.
Located right behind the belfry in Brugge, Martin's is very convenient to everything in the historic center of town. We stayed for one night in a standard double room on the top floor of the newer portion of the hotel. The room was not very large but had a high ceiling so it did not feel cramped. It was very rustic inside with many of the old wooden beams still showing in the walls in ceiling. The breakfast was good and what you would typically find in any European hotel breakfasts; cold meats, cheeses, yogurts, and lots of pastries and breads. There are all kinds of restaurants in the area so you will have no shortage of options of where to eat. You can pay for the hotel parking but we parked at a large underground garage about 300 meters away for 8 euro per day. The choice is yours. Overall, it was a great stay and I would recommend it to anyone.

Ideal city centre locationPosted Aug 7, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location!! Friendly, welcoming staff. Secure parking (at a price)
Cons: Wardrobes in the rooms, although the size of the rooms on the 4th floor preclude this.
Location: You couldn't be more central. Literally, 20 metres behind the Belfry. Also a good base for exploring WW1 history if you come by car.
The hotel is easy to find with satnav once you get into the old part of Brugge. Secure underground car parking is available at the hotel, which although you can not book, there were plenty of spaces on each of the 3 days we stayed. It was made clear at the time of booking that the charge would be €25 per night, which we were content to pay. It is secure, city centre parking after all. The staff were incredibly helpful, the breakfast was excellent and the bar was similarly warm and inviting. We were given a room on the 4th floor which was a little small. We are spending a few weeks travelling around Europe and thus have a serious amount of luggage!! There's no wardrobe to decant your clothes into, or storage space of any kind. This proved problematical for us, but if you are a short stay visitor with a limited amount of luggage, it won't be an issue. The bed was a proper double and very comfortable, with a good bathroom and excellent shower. There's no tea and coffee making facilities, but there was a mini bar.

very convenient location.Posted Jul 24, 2014
Pros: It's location. Rooms were comfortable and clean.
Cons: The staff could be more friendly and perhaps smile a bit more.
Location: Brilliant location, right next to market square. A canal boat trip is a must and the horse drawn carriage was lovely.
On arrival the staff came across as a bit snooty and unfriendly. On check out they were much better. Our room was a bit disappointing, no coffee making facilities in room and only a view of a brick wall, although our teenage kids had a much better view from their window. Breakfast price, I felt, was extortionate, so we went to the lovely market place, 50 metres away and had a lovely breakfast for a lot less money. Price of parking was rather high, so we parked in the main underground car park which was less than half the price of the hotel parking. Overall the Hotel was a reasonable price for it's location, which was very convenient.

Good Base, no frills.Posted Jul 19, 2014
A great location, you will get what you book, a decent 3 star base. Don't expect anything more, you won't be disappointed. If you want a little more comfort or luxury, look elsewhere, however you will be paying more!

Good. Very near centre. Car parking (expensive)Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: The comfort and the breakfasts.
Cons: The depressing décor in the bedrooms
Location: Situated immediately behind the belfry it is close to cafes, main squares, shops. canals, and everything one needs for a wonderful few days in Bruges.
A friend and I (both elderly) spent two nights here. We could not have room until 3pm but there were facilities for holding luggage. Room was very comfortable though décor rather depressing and similar in all the rooms we have used. In fact the hotel is large (caters for bus parties) modern, functional and rather characterless. We have stayed here several times as it is very close to the main square and also has underground car parking which initially were our reasons for choosing it. Parking is expensive but was free with a blue (disability) badge. The breakfast is exceptional and provided absolutely everything one could possibly require or desire. If one is looking for a useful base this one is impersonal but it very clean, it provides convenience, comfort, all the facilities one might need, and a helpful staff.

Nice stay, excellent locationPosted Jul 15, 2014
The place is just behind the main square, thus very handy. It is a nice and modern hotel with very nice staff. Unfortunately the WC was very dirty due to old yellow scale that nobody bothered to remove. Naturally, it did stink as well. The room was a bit small but nice and modern.

Great central hotel! The hotel is located a minute from the main square and about a 20 minute walk from the train station. Many great restaurants nearby.
