Nice central hotelPosted Nov 10, 2013
Lovely hotel in a great location with friendly staff and a fantastic breakfast. Only small complaints would be the lighting in the room which was very dim and the shower which kept changing temperature. Other than that, it was thoroughly enjoyable and we would stay there again.

Not for people who like to sleep.Posted Nov 4, 2013
Cons: With the exception of the location, everything.
Location: Good location just a short walk from the railway station and the city centre. Wonderful old city which is best explored on foot (in our opinion).
The noise intrusion in this hotel is the worst we have ever experienced. We were on the fourth floor but we may have well been on the ground floor with the windows open. The traffic noise and noise from people passing in the street woke us every day. There was a gap under the door (opening on the the corridor) so noise from the comings and goings from the other guests and staff was very intrusive. We had a room with an adjoining door (to the next room) which may have well been left open as it didn't offer any sound proofing whatsoever. When we checked in, the member of staff behind the desk was miserable and very unwelcoming. We made the mistake of eating in the hotel restaurant one evening. The food was poor and the waiting staff were unwelcoming, unresponsive and gave the impression we were putting them out by being there. The bed was uncomfortable. The bathroom was in need of refurbishment. The toilet was constantly running, the tiles and grouting around the bath need attention and the bath tap was badly stained with limescale creating a very "tired" look.

It was okay, could have been betterPosted Nov 1, 2013
Pros: Location to trains, activities and restaurants
This best thing about this hotel was the location. It was across the street from the old part of Brugges which was amazing. We could walk back to the hotel in under 20 minutes from almost anywhere we went. It was also a 10 minute walk to the train station. However it just didn't feel very clean. It had a rather dingy appearance and the room wasn't very well presented. The bathroom looked like it wasn't cleaned before we took the room. There were brown stains all down the sides of the tub. Even the way the beds were spread made it look like someone rushed and just threw everything together. Another thing that was a little annoying. There was a sign posted on the counter that said that late check out until 5pm was available on Sundays. When we asked for it, we were told that we couldn't get it as the hotel was all booked on the Monday. We understand that can happen, but then there shouldn't be a sign stating otherwise. Overall the stay was literally just okay, very mediocre. I can't say I wouldn't stay here again but I wouldn't be excited about it.

Weekend VisitPosted Oct 30, 2013
Cons: Breakfast could be more reasonable
Location: All local attractions in walking distance, plenty of restaurants to choose from although we would not recommend eating around the square very poor..
Great Location, breakfast was very expensive 21 euros each...

Cosy and in the spirit of BruggePosted Oct 29, 2013
Clean room, looking very traditional, but not dated. Much better experience than some hotel chains without that local character. Friendly staff, excellent location - very much recommended!

Great hotel in good locationPosted Oct 28, 2013
8 of us were in Bruges for a lads weekend away. I have stayed in this hotel before and would stay again. Great price of around £50 per night including breakfast. Good location on a main road, but no traffic noise. Check in was easy and quick-the reception staff were excellent and helpful with maps and information. It's about a 10 min walk into the main town square. We drove and parked in the station car park, which was a 10-15min walk, but 48hrs parking is only 7 euros. Rooms were large and clean, beds were very big and comfy. Breakfast was good, probably my only real complaint was 1 very rude waitress who was there both mornings at breakfast. Well recommended.

Expedia users as second-class customersPosted Oct 23, 2013
Pros: It's located between the train station and the center of town, so it's convenient. Most rooms are clean and comfortable.
Cons: They should not check in customers into recently-vomited rooms.
Location: Brugges is small, so everything worth seeing in town is within 20 minutes walk.
The room they put us in had such a strong perfume smell, I knew something was amiss. When I sat in the bed I got a whiff of wretch, and when I got on my knees to find its source I realized the entire carpet next to the bed was still wet from being cleaned. Essentially, someone had gotten sick, thrown up, and they just covered it with perfume. Of course, when I complained, they moved us, but to a smaller, less interesting room. The concierge/check-in attendant, Jasper, was very kind, but after a while, I felt like I was burdening him, which is not what a guest should feel. I would stay at a B&B next time I come to Brugge.

NH Bruggge - Go there.Posted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: It had a perfectly adequate location and the pricing was fair for Brugge. There was a well equiped gym open for long enough.
Cons: Maybe the grout round the bath could be renewed -but being picky. I am not sure about the breakfast pricing policy,it seems to vary from 24 to 15
Location: Easy walk to all attractions. Bell tower, horse rides and canal trips. Take a walk after sunset and photograph churches bathed in yellow golden light.
Unless you are infirm or old there is absolutely no reason why you cannot walk (with wheeled luggage ) to this hotel from the train station and out to the old town. Perfectly located and the rooms were big enough and clean enough. The front desk staff were polite and helpful. Due to lack of energy after walking all around the town we ate in the hotel as opposed to usual trip out to restaurants. VERY impressed with the service and quality of the food. We had friends who had front aspect rooms and did not hear the market setting up on Saturday morning. The food stalls were fantastic. Valubles safe and tea making things were included.
