Charming and graceful, just like the town.Posted Oct 21, 2012
Pros: Old-World charm and refined but friendly service
Cons: Going downstairs to use the bathroom in our room
Location: Quiet tree-lined street, but very close to center of town
A perfect setting to see this remarkable city. Very conveniently located, but still slightly removed from the extremely congested tourist center of the city. The Pand is located on a quiet tree-lined side street about half a block from one of the city's famous canals. It has a very Old-World traditional feel, very homey but still elegant. There's a library and reading room as you enter and a fireplace. The room we got (no. 1) was very spacious to accomodate three, including our 9-year-old son. But it was right off the dining room, so it was a little awkward to open your room door and enter straight into the area where other guests are eating breakfast, rather than into a hallway. Also, the bath was on a lower floor, separate from the sleeping quarters upstairs. Our view from the room was a brick wall. So we would demand a different room next time. Upper floors might have a better view and more convenient bath. Other than that, the staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. There was a problem with the bill when we checked out: they charged us for parking but we didn't have a car and also charged an extra day for breakfast we didn't have. But they fixed it right away, and graciously. The breakfast by the way was quite enjoyable, served by the nice woman wearing a white apron who cooked it up in that white dining room with an old-fashioned feel. Very sweet. This is one of those rare hotel experiences that really lingers with you. Charming and graceful, just like the town.

great location on a quiet side streetPosted Sep 21, 2012
Pros: location, boutique feel
Location: steps away from the heart of the town
Great location, steps away from everything you want to do, but located on a quiet side street. Very friendly staff, rooms are a good value for a four star hotel.

Ok hotelPosted Aug 29, 2012
Pros: Decoration of the lobby
Cons: Matress, Odor, Deco
Location: Good Location
Even though the hotel is Catalogued as a Small Luxury Hotel of the World, in my experience, it lacked a few things overall to match this standard. When we arrived to a standard room, it did not have enough ventilation, but a small window without any view at all. The decoration was rather like an old cabin. We upgraded then to a Suite. Although this upgrade, the comfort of the matress was not good at all. And inside the room, (The blue polo suite) there was this odor to old furniture (not necesarely bad, but not quite comfortable as well) in the room. The Location is very good.

Perfect Bruges basePosted Jul 11, 2012
Short of actually having a view of the canals the hotel is perfectly situated, just off the main tourist streets. Breakfasts were top notch, provided by an excellent small team, and good value on a special offer, which we hadn't expected! Coming back to the hotel in the afternoon we took tea in the sitting rooms - again, excellent value, with wide choice of teas, served with petits-fours and chocolate raisins etc. We thoroughly recommend joining the hotel-organised free guided walking tour on the first afternoon. It's a great way to find your way around the town and get your bearings. Our guide was well-informed and took us to a couple of hidden gems that we probably wouldn't have found from a guidebook.

Ok...but not spectacularPosted May 27, 2012
Pros: great location
Cons: Hard beds
Location: Excellent location for walking in Bruge and easy to reach by bus from train station
Nice location...very convenient to walking around Bruge. Our room was quite small and the bed was hard. All in all it was ok but we might look elsewhere in Bruge next time.

The Hotel Pand in BrugePosted Dec 5, 2011 on Hotels.com
This was a lovely hotel. Really liked the decor and the staff were very friendly. They gave me a great recommendation to a nearby restaurant for dinner and made a reservation for me. Loved the little touches like a (belgium) chocoIate on the pillow, and a note to summarise the next day's weather forecast. I only stayed the one night but would have been happy to have stayed longer. The only downside was the room was a bit small. If I wanted to open my suitcase it completely blocked off access to one side of the bed. The smallness of the hotel also meant the fornt desk wasn't always staffed. And whilst I can't really blame the staff, there was a mosquito in my hotel room (in Novemeber!!)

Great staff and locationPosted Nov 15, 2011
The Pand Hotel was a great place to stay for exploring Bruges, due to its excellent location. In a recent visit (Nov 2011) I found the staff to be very helpful and had a good attitude. The decor and quality of food are excellent, especially the breakfast, but also the hotel has a nice albeit small bar, plus a warm and comfortable lounge. If you are travelling light, it is within walking distance from the rail station, so no need for a taxi.
