steer clear !Posted Apr 7, 2015
Upon arrival to Bruges, we were shocked to find out that Hotel Velotel was no where near the city center as explicity noted on theirs AND expedias website. The trek from the train station inculded a 25 minute bus ride to a stop that was isolated with no directions that left us to a 15 minute walk with all of our luggage. When we arrived, we did not even know we were there due to the fact that the front of the hotel looked absolutely nothing like the photo on both websites. After we got settled we realized the wifi would rarely hold a connection for more than a few minutes. My friend had extremely important work to do on our stop in Bruge and she had to go all the way to the lobby to get a stronger connection. When we alerted the staff of our problems, they were not considerate of our concerns in the slightest. They didn't even offer is help to solve the problem. Furthermore, we were placed in a handicapped room that included an all plastic bathroom/shower complete with a plastic accordian door. We had arrived earlier because there was no mention of a check in time on my booking confirmation or on the website, which is why we were placed in said room. We were told we wouldnt have a bathtub which was fine with us until we saw the bathroom. As well, the water from the tap was concerningly murky and we were left with the only option of buying bottled water in the lobby vending machiene which cost us 4€ for about 8oz of water. To top it off, as we were in the lobby we noticed h

Posted Jan 7, 2015 on Hotels.com
O hotel é longe sim do centro.

Great hotel, far from city centerPosted Jan 6, 2015 on Hotels.com
Great hotel, friendly staff, but it is a bit far from city center and you have to walk to get to the public transportation. We did not anticipate this when booking because we had specifically requested something close to the center. The hotel provides 2 8-euro vouchers, but that is not going to be enough to cover the entire trip if you are staying more than 1 night. It costs an average of 12 euros to get to city center by taxi. Overall the room was good quality and it was worth the money.

Maybe I was just paranoid.Posted Jan 5, 2015 on Hotels.com
It was late when I looked for a reservation so a larger hotel with a night desk with parking was key. Velotel fulfilled those conditions, front desk was friendly, but even though the room was already paid for with a credit card they still wanted a credit card on file. I guess they have untrustworthy customers (no stocked minibar, and there was nothing worth stealing in the room). The room was good sized and the bathroom was clean. However the wood floor in the room was a little sticky, not sure if it was wax or something I did not care to know, but when the bedside light switch also had sticky stuff (like duct tape residue) I got a bit paranoid and performed the towel shuffle for the rest of my stay rather than touch the floor. Also used towel on switch. Without making a fuss I did mention the stickyness when I checked out.
