Excellent choice!Posted Sep 30, 2014
Pros: Very comfortable, clean and centrally located.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
Location: Dozens of restaurants and bars within walking distance and many with live music on Friday and Saturday.
Centrally located to most of the restaurants and bars located in "the village" section of St Simmons Island. Accommodations were first rate. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The only 2 issues I had with my room (#101) were as follows: 1. The air conditioner made quite a loud humming noise when it ran. I almost complained but since I was only there for one night, I figured I would get used to it (white noise sort of thing). 2. The bath tub drain was slow (partially clogged). This too I did not complain because I was only staying one night. I am confident though if I had raise these issues to the staff, they would have done their best to resolve them. Neither of these issues would have kept me from staying there again. The included breakfast was above average but not anything I would staying for if I wanted to get on the road early as was the case.

Pros: We liked the character of the place and the location under the shady oaks.
Cons: Ceiling fan needed balancing, made clicking noise.
Charming B&B in an excellent location on a lovely Island. It was great to be able to park and walk or ride bikes to very good dinning, pier, antiques, lighthouse, etc.

Pros: Great location, wonderful breakfast, friendly staff.
Location: Walk to shopping, restaurants, the beach. You could stay here and not need a car.
This is a unique inn with a wonderful location. Each room is different, and the pub/front desk is comfortable and welcoming.

Quaint hotel, pricey, good locationPosted Apr 9, 2014
Cons: coffee maker in room!
Location: In the middle of everything! Close to the village and the beach!
My wife and I enjoyed our stay. One problem was no coffee maker in our room! The continental breakfast was fair. Very friendly staff. Room was very clean. Very small bathroom and vanity!

Cozey little spotPosted Nov 6, 2013
Beautiful little getaway. The rooms are a little small, but you're not going to stay in your room except to sleep! Everything you need is within walking distance. It is a stone's throw away from The Village, which has dining and shopping. The lobby is quaint and encourages guests to get to know each other while they enjoy a cocktails by the fire.

Cons: staff was not as helpful as they might have been
Great location in St. Simon's--easy walk to shops, beaches, pier, art galleries, lighthouse and other attractions. Music nightly in the Pub was terrific!

Little bit of HeavenPosted Dec 5, 2012
Pros: The Ambience was the most valuable asset of this location.
Cons: Gravel parking wasn't the greatest for a Goldwing.
Location: The location was convenient to everything.
Fabulous location, excellent service and wonderful amenities. We enjoyed our stay emmensely. The ambience of the hotel was refreshing and romantic. The pub was cozy and fun, especially when the dancing started. The view from our balcany was of the quaint street and shops leading to the pier and the ocean. We were comfortable and refreshed.

Wasn't up to typical high standard.Posted Jul 10, 2011
We have stayed here several times in the past, and this trip just wasn't as up to par. Our trips are part fun and some business, so it was very inconvenient when we didn't have wifi for the first full day. Our room didn't get cleaned at all on the 2nd day, and when we finally called housekeeping was gone for the day. They did send down clean towels and said they would report it to the inn keeper. We will probably try staying her one more year because we have had better experiences in the past and love the location, but this trip wasn't the best performance for The Village Inn and Pub.

Wonderful hotel within walking distance to the villagePosted Nov 13, 2010
My husband and I stayed here for one night and were very happy with the comfort, charm and service at this unique spot. It is within easy walking of several excellent restaurants and all the shops in the village. We have always stayed directly on the beach and did miss those views, but other than that this is a great spot.
