Great Hotel & Location

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: You definitely get your money's worth.
Cons: The continental breakfast. Need more variety of bagels and bread. There was no fresh fruit, just fruit cups.
Location: Pier for fishing (there is a $5 charge), rent bicycles. Very quiet but beautiful spot.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Pools and hot tub were very nice. At night it's just as beautiful with a lit gazebo and area around the pool.

nice, quaint---right on beach!

Posted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: right on beach, free breakfast in a spacious room
Cons: no ramp to the elevator for luggage on a cart. We had to carry luggage to 1st floor to load cart, then get an elevator.
good, liked the location; quiet and more laid back

It was ok for one night.

Pros: Oceanfront room Free Breakfast
Cons: Better beds Quieter AC Unit
Location: A few restaurants A few shopping areas
We stayed one night. Really cute bungalow style hotel. Oceanfront room which was really nice. Breakfast was about the same as any other hotel that offers free breakfast. Waffles/cereal/bagels etc. We were on the second floor. Nicely decorated room but the beds were not comfortable, we kept waking up all night. The AC unit was extremely loud when it came on at 1am! The indoor pool was kind of small and very chlorinated - we couldn't stay long in there. We got a good deal through Expedia ($85) versus the hotel's website ($120). It was nice that it was in a quiet area but I thought it would have been a little better than what it was. I would recommend it because it's in a great area it just wasn't a great place for us.

Very Nice Weekend Getaway!

Posted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: Clean and pleasant atmosphere, great staff also!
Cons: Nothing to mention, my stay was great!
Location: A pier, a beautiful beach and gorgeous sunsets! A small community for golfing and a nearby town with your essential restaurants and basic retail needs
My husband and daughter arranged for a weekend getaway for a pleasant weekend to myself. I needed it! When I arrived, the first thing was how pleasant and helpful the staff was....it started my weekend off right! Room was very clean (ocean view was a plus), comfortable bed and nice clean sheets. My impression typically is that there always seems to be something wrong with my rooms , but not in this place! Very pleased with many options for a continental breakfast. Proximity to the beach was great also. Heated indoor pool was a major plus and the weekend did turn cooler. Overall, a wonderful experience! Would Highly Recommend! P.S. I will be back!

Great location right on the beach.

Posted Mar 28, 2014
Pros: The location. Our room overlooked the ocean and the balcony was great for relaxing.
Cons: For our purposes, it was perfect.
Location: Very easy to get to. Over the bridge, right turn and you are there. Plenty of restaurants and shops in the area.
We stopped in Ocean Isle Beach on our way back north from Florida. Hadn't been to the area before and wanted to explore. Even though the weather was much colder than average, it was a great experience. Wonderful beach and great restaurants nearby. Would love to go back again when the weather is warmer! Hotel is very convenient to everything.

Classic Old Style Beachfront Hotel

Posted Mar 27, 2014
Pros: The location & the staff.
Cons: The common areabathroomsneef an update.
Location: Great beach walking, bird watching, golf in the area.
We arrived after booking an "Oceanfront" room on Expedia. The booking was very clear that we did not have a balcony BUT as we were staying on the ground floor of a beach front hotel on the Outerbanks did NOT think it unusual! We were given a "Sound View" room, ie street view, which is what Expedia had booked for us. The staff were excellent, contacting management , and then providing us with a room with "Oceanfront" . Our room on the second floor with a balcony was delightful. Definitely showing its age but clean, amazingly comfortable beds, roomy, and the rocking chairs on the balcony were an added bonus. Breakfast was nothing remarkable, the coffee was good, no fresh fruit, but cereal, waffles and bagels, mini muffins , yougart were plentiful. The outdoor pool was well maintained, chairs and tables in good condition. The location on Ocean Isle Beach was wonderful. Not overly developed beachfront, great walking with ,not a high rise in sight!

Great Oceanfront Hotel

Posted Mar 24, 2014
Pros: It was oceanfront and had indoor and outdoor pools. We also like the free continental breakfast.
Cons: The speed of the check-in service could have been faster.
We had a wonderful and very relaxing time. Everyone was very friendly and courteous.
