“Happy with THE WINDS”

We were very happy with our stay at The Winds. It is exactly as it advertises. Low key, but a good place to stay. There are a variety of room types and buildings to choose from and it is a little confusing to figure out what to pick, but we were happy with our single room across the street from the ocean front buildings. We only had one night to stay, but we do hope to go back when we can stay longer. Free bikes, two pools and an ocean front tiki bar were our favorite things. The only things I was a little surprised about what the breakfast. The selection was good, but the dining room was small and crowded. Not a big deal on in the post season but I can't imagine it in peak season. We will be back soon I hope!

“"Calm, relaxing getaway"”

I was looking for a quiet place for my husband and me to escape to. I wanted to be on a peaceful island with tropical surroundings. The Winds on Ocean Isle Beach, turned out to be just that. The staff was inviting, super accomodating, and made us feel at home. This is how you get repeat business. Well, it worked, we are going back next year! We love beautiful scenery, and it was everywhere. Our room was quaint and very comfortable. Thank you for making a blind trip SUPER!

“Wonderful”

It was great for the weekend traveler or for some one with kids. I found it so kid friendly. They were so nice and helpful. I had a great time with the fun area and the pool since the water was to cool to go into the water. We played in the sand and watched the Dolphins feed in the surf. We didn't want to leave.

“Great place--but misrepresented”

Very clean and nice facility, but the room was misrepresented as ocean view w/balcony--we were given a room across the street from the ocean with a back facing view from our deck, the clerk said "oh, we don't know why they are listed like that......."

“Nice winter retreat on the beach!”

This older hotel has personality, which some of the others in its area lack. I particularly liked the decor. It was comfortable and the balcony was nice. The breakfast food consisted of a nice assortment of hot and cold choices. The personnel were all pleasant. The area was quiet and the view from the balcony was great. We look forward to returning next year. Don't change your decor, it adds warmth to the place!!

“Nice weekend getaway!”

Quaint quiet place. Wonderful landscaping. Great ocean view! Old fashioned decor. Could probably stand some modernization and increase in size of the bathrooms.
