“Nice place, convenient location”
I really like this hotel, very clean, neat. I'd give it 5 stars but wifi was not free, I had to purchase it :( Don't miss Delirium Pub, huge selection of beers.
“Mediocre hotel, great location”
I booked the hotel for its location near the Grand Place, and in that sense it's unbeatable for the price, as it seems to me that all the other hotels so conveniently located are a lot more pricey, and I needed to be within walking distance. The hotel itself, however, it not one I would ordinarily recommend, simply because it is mediocre in terms of customer service and comfort... my room was very tiny, with a single bed and not much room to move around. I was also disappointed to find out that Wifi and breakfast cost extra. Overall, if you are thinking of booking the Hotel Aris, it's not a terrible place to stay considering the location and the price, but it's a no-frills kind of hotel, fine for a night or two.
“Not best value for money”
Only 1 TV channel in English. No news channels in English. No free WiFi. Bed pillows too small. Breakfast for 12 euros not worth it. Room close to alley too noisy to street traffic. Would not stay there again.
“Brus. best”
Perfect location. Staff & rooms - also !
“Good find in Brussels”
The hotel is a basic hotel. It is clean and has what you need to spend the night. Our room was a corner room, and the windows do open. It's really nice because you get the smell and the sound of Brussels. The location is awesome. It is so close to the Central Station. Grote Markt was around the corner, where you can find restaurants, shops, chocolate shops, etc. The front desk staff was nice and spoke english. The one thing that I find weird, you have to leave a key at the front desk before you leave. But when we saw the key, we knew why you have to. The bed was fine, it was not King size, but for European standard, that was good. I agree the pillow was a bit small, but when you're tired from walking around all day, pillow size was the least of my worry. We didn't get the breakfast there because across the street there are other places where you can get breakfast and cheaper.
“Extremely dissapointed! Gorgeous city, bad hotel.”
We got a shock first thing at our check in. We had booked a double but the clerk said it was only for one person and we would have to pay 30 euros more. He then told us he would give us a king bed and larger room as we were upset. When we got to the room it was TINY, an attic alcove with the smallest double bed I have ever seen! Heater had only two options, freezing when off and boiling when on. The bed was so hard it was like granite, neither my husband or I got any sleep. The pillows were so tiny, like airplane pillows! Breakfast was the terrible and cost 12 euros each, thankfully we bypassed it after looking at the selection and went across the street for a hot coffee and pastry. As frequent world travelers, about the only good thing I can say about this hotel is the location, we were very dissapointed. Oh I forgot, when I got into bed I noticed there was icky stuff splashed on the wall only a foot away that no one had bothered to even clean up.
“Great location.”
Right off the Grand Place and a short walk to the station. Rooms are pretty spartan, but clean and had a safe. Could use another pillow. Reception was cordial, English no problem. I used it basically as a transit stop before taking the train to the airport the next morning and it fulfilled that perfectly, being very close to decent food and great beer.
“Around the Corner from Gran Place”
This hotel is the ideal stay for people who would like to see Bruxelles on a budget, but not be inconvenienced by their frugality. The location, and overall comfort, for the price is beyond comparison. It is literally one block from the Gran Place. The Metro, and train station Centraal, is right around the corner. The hotel is very clean, staff very friendly and accommodating, and the rooms adequate. Highly recommended.
“Convenient”
The location of this hotel is perfect for everything - shopping, public transport, sights, entertainment... Unfortunately the windows do not cut down the noise coming from the street in the middle of the night.. The pillows are so thin there might as well not have been any, and the sheets were ripped. This is not a hotel for honeymooners!
“In the Middle of the Action in Brussels”
We stayed here for four nights in November during which it rained every day. Luckily this hotel is right off the Grand Plaza and in the middle of a large shopping area so we could walk without getting too wet. With one exception, the people at the desk were friendly and very helpful giving us advice about where to find services and/or specific locations. The woman who oversaw the breakfast buffet in the morning was unpleasant enough that we found places outside to eat which was fine because the breakfast did not come with the room charge anyway. The room was very clean and comfortable. It partially overlooked an alley and part of the main street and was noisy at night if we had our window open. Other than that, it was perfect. The hotel is neither too large nor too small so there was seldom a wait at the desk if we needed information.
