Unfortunately heat started all of a sudden and AC was overused which made AC much slower. Concerning the neighbourhood, please note that it is not the worst part of Brussels, we are within 15 minutes walk to the historic central of Brussels, and the closeness of the North Station is quite convenient for many of our guests. This is the worst hotel in world. Dirty room, faulty aircondition, hot like oven, very rude and uncaring staff. Aircondition was not cooling room properly. They even refused to help. Not provided fan instead. No tissues in bathroom. Empty bottles of toiletries. Very rude and aggressive behaviour of staff. I would never ever recommend any body to stay in Best westren City Centre Brussels.

The hotel is generally run down and poorly kept. The shower didn't work properly, and was fitted perpendicular to the bath, it would change temperature as you were showing so you would get scolded then immediately freeze and if you are taller than the shower spluttered. The tap for the sink was loose and too close to the edge so you couldn't wash your hands easily or fill a water bottle. The coverage of the WiFi in the rooms was poor, you had little or no connection.

The entrance of the hotel has 4 stairs and had time getting the bags. No parking and the closest parking was 8 mins walk. It was raining and we had very tough time. front service wasn't very informative. Room was dirty with stained bed sheet. I had to request them to change the sheet and blanket. The extra pillow we took smelled like used. Disappointed overealll.

The property was damp, walls are thin and had mold, the towels were rough, the area was a bit sketchy, the detachable shower head was leaking/broken, the heating is controlled by the hotel so no matter how hot or warm you want the room, it’ll show error unless turned on by the hotel.

Stayed here for 5 nights. Only 5 mins walk from Brussels North train station. Major road works down from hotel, but still able to walk around. We were on 6th floor at the back, so quite quiet. Only moan the room was too hot and air con wasn't on, but we just kept the window open. Lovely room and great towels. Breakfast was very nice good hot and cold selection. Staff very friendly.

Need Security at front door!!! Too many panhandlers and petty criminals. Had one failed pick-pocket of my wallet right in front of the hotel doors. When mentioned to the receptionist, she mentioned that they were “Harmless!!” Parking was too far away and there was no advance notice that there was too much construction all around the property, therefore it was hard for car services to gain fast access and one had to pay extra as they maneuvered the various detours. Hotel next door had a “Two Star” outside the building, but it should have been a “Minus 10 !!” Hence, the attraction to for the criminal element. We had a fire alarm in mid-morning that lasted at least 20 minutes and the receptionist was frantically pushing a bunch of buttons trying to figure out how to stop it while on the phone for some guidance.

Building and roadworks in the immediate vicinity of hotel were a major inconvenience - although there is probably little the hotel can do about this.. Also - nearby underpasses are a security concern.

If you can, stay away
all hotel in capital cities are unfortunately exploiting the inflation news - they are pricing themselves at least 50% more than they should be. For 150 EURO you have this hotel next to a very unpleasant Gare du Nord train station (smelly, dirty, very messy and dangerous). The air conditioning did not work for 2 full days, and the hotel would make you think that it is your mistake not to stick around to wait for them to change your room. The breakfast is 15 EUR but it was simply horrible - you would be much happier to get a croissant and coffee in supermarket. So all in all, please do not consider this hotel if you have any option.

Cheap updates and avoid at night
I arrived a little later than anticipated (around 10 pm), but I always thought Brussels was relatively safe. I quickly changed my mind walking the short distance from Brussel-North to the hotel. Do not plan on being outside at night, especially alone. The staff was friendly, but the room had been cheaply/poorly updated. I didn't expect a really fancy room and simply needed a pre-flight hotel, but it felt dingy. There were holes and stains on the hallway/bathroom walls and what looked like mold all around the tub. If you want somewhere cheap and only plan to walk to/from during the day it could be ok, but otherwise I won't be back.
