Still a good place to stay in Brussels

Posted May 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
I have stayed at this hotel four times now. The rooms are large and the staff very friendly and helpful. The floor in our room was a bit dirty and could have used a good mop though. The neighborhood has gotten a little grittier since the last time I stayed there, but it is still a good, safe neighborhood with a grocery downstairs and lots of restaurants close by. The price and convenience of location (close to Metro Louise) make it a good and reasonably priced option for Brussels.

Pods poor hotel!!!!!

Posted May 20, 2014
My stay at this hotel was indescribable. The room was deathly cold, there was 1 pillow on either side of the bed which were as flat as badly beaten pancakes. The room lacked a reading lamp as well as a simple notepad and pen. The bed was prepared with an old duvet not consistent with the ones on the other beds of the hotel. Inside the microwave was not cleaned, there was no iron or bin in the room but these were brought in as an afterthought. The room was not consistent with the newly refurbished rooms viewed at the citadines open day.

£93 a night?????

Posted Mar 31, 2014 on Hotels.com
Luckily I was using my Hotel.com voucher for this stay as I was expecting a lot more for the rate. This hotel is no better than a travel lodge except it's in the heart of Brussels. Free wifi is the only thing apart from location going for it. If I'd have had to pay that rate personally I would have been extremely disappointed.

Great place, great small apartment with all the amenities of home. Very good location, 10 min subway to the city centre, but great location to shop for high brands.

Good hotel but rooms are not tidiedup each day

Posted Feb 18, 2014 on Hotels.com
Overall, it was all right, but there was no warning that rooms were not made up every day. I suspect the name "apart hotel" is supposed to convey this "detail". The situation is made even more confusing by virtue of a notice inviting customers to "explore" rooms with light service every day and full service every so often. The "explore" mention could easily be mistaken as a description of existing services, but this is not the case; this is advertisement for "premium" type rooms. When I mentioned this to a receptionist, I was met with bad faith and had to face a difficult discussion. Perhaps not coincidentally, my wake up call the following day was delayed by half an hour. Conclusion: an OK hotel with some good points, but be prepared not to have your oome made up every day.

Hotel is fine but noisy

Posted Oct 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Citadines meets the standard of a 3 star aparthotel. Clean and efficient service. However it is located next to a major road and it is not well insulated so there was a lot of traffic noise throughout the night. Noise seems to travel easily through the walls as well and there is electrical noise from the kitchenette. So the hotel is fine unless you are a light sleeper.
