“Nice Little Hotel”

We found this hotel to be staffed by very friendly people, which was very comfortable, and most importantly had a superb location in the heart of old Brussels. I would stay there again.

“Proximity to Grand Place”

The room was small but clean. There are bars right next to the hotel blaring music till 2 in the morning, so if that's your thing, then this hotel is perfect for you. I just shut the windows and it was fine. The staff is friendly.

“Spot on for the money in liveliest district of Brussels”

Hotel Chantecler was exactly what we wanted - cheap accommodation in the heart of the St Gery/Catherine district; we didn't have far to walk home after our evenings entertainment. The staff are polite and helpful and the reception is open 24 hrs. The decor was nice; a cross between the 70s and art deco, we had a bronze mirrored ceiling in our room! On the downside, there was a slight pong from the bathroom on the first day,the walls were very thin, the glazing inadequate and being in such a lively district, earplugs are essential. Breakfast was sparse but adequate: juice, coffee rolls, croissants dairylea and jam. We'd recommed this hotel to anyone on a budget.

“Great location, bad noise”

The hotel itself was ok, cheap and clean, a little old fashioned but not uncomfortable. Staff was very friendly, spoke English well. Breakfast was a bit sparse, but not horrible. Internet was 3 Euros an hour for a cable hook up in the lobby area. We had a room right at the front corner, nice room, HORRIFIC noise from local bar next door all night. Ask for a back room if possible.

“Liveable hotel, nice area”

The room was a bit small, but clean and decent. Breakfast is one of the worst though as they just give you 2 pieces of bread, butter/jam/cheese, and some coffee. Not even buffet style! In spite of this, I'd still somewhat recommend the hotel since the location was pretty good as it was walking distance from the Grand Place.

“Good value for money”

When you consider the relatively low room rates, and the central location not far from the Grand Place, this hotel represents excellent value for any traveller on a budget. Our double room was quite small (but adequate for one night), and at one stage the water pressure on the basin cold tap was very low - but hotel staff were very helpful. Our request for an extra pillow met with some reluctance initially - but one was eventually found.

“Good location but...”

Good and convenient location. Staffs have kindness, but shower in the bathroom didn't supply hot water sufficiently and I found sandwiches former guests may have stored in the refrigerator... As overall estimation, it's not so worse considering its price.

“An ok hotel but nothing great”

It has a good location, about 5 minutes walk from Grand Place. We found the man at the reception in the nights to be not very courteous, he didnt want to serve us because he was chatting with some friend in Hindi on an international call. The room was reasonably nice inside but what we didnt like was that they kept the AC really low and it felt quite stuffy insider (rather a common occurence at most hotels though). We opened the window but there was crazy noise from outside through the night from people who were partying. Overall, I would say not quite worth the price.
