Hotel Chantecler, close to Brussels Grand'PlacePosted Oct 12, 2013
Pros: Close to Brussels centre.
Location: As previously mentioned, the location is perfect for visiting the Capital and its architectural jewels. Lovely restaurants and brasseries, shops, etc.
Terrible overall experience. Had stayed there few years ago when it was impeccable. This time, was given room on the street where nightclubs music played until 4am. Bathroom covered in mould, no plug for bath tub, very little hot water soon turning cold. No time for shampoo! Breakfast consisted of rock hard stale bread and a mediocre croissant. Following morning, same thing. Upon arrival Indian receptionist insisted on speaking English though I first spoke my mother thong; French. He was rough and unapologetic about the terrible noise in our room. The following day, the other employee managed to put us in different quieter rooms. Better night sleep but hardly any hot water and mould everywhere, even on shower curtain!

Two night stay in Brussels.Posted Jun 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Hotel was basic but a good 2 star which met our needs. The breakfast was of the typical Belgium/French style with rolls coffee/tea jam and some ham and cheese. For those that wanted there was also cereal and yogurt available. The room was compact with limited storage but enough space for our rucksack and case. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Location - about 5 minutes walk from the Grand Place and 15/20 minutes from Brussels Midi station, although the metro was available from the corner of the block.

Overall a good experience!Posted May 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel is in a fabulous location, it is central but not noisy. We got the 2-twin bed room and it was pretty spacious, but the beds were not the best, and the room was very simple (a bit ugly too). The bathroom was very spacious. The service was great, as far as we know, they were always very kind and helpful to us. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

Basic Hotel in a Central LocalePosted May 20, 2013
Pros: The Internet, hair dryer and location to the tourist sites
Cons: The bedding, shower floor, water temperature in the shower
Location: Convenient but the bar across the little lane way a little noisy
Treat this hotel as just a room and bathroom in a central location. There is nothing fancy about this hotel, if you need somewhere to just sleep for a few hours and have a shower this will do the job! Internet worked ok but we had to keep logging in everytime we shut our phones or iPads off, slightly annoying but the speed was fine. It was also 5mins from the old town and only 50mtrs to Bourse Beurs station and less than 15min walk to the Grand Station. A little noisy at night since there is a bar across the road - but it would be more a problem on the w/ends and only if your room faced that side of the hotel. The breakfast is very basic - Cornflakes, bread rolls, croissants, yoghurt, poached eggs, tea, coffee, OJ and water. Hair dryer worked fine and they had soap. Shower floor could do with a scrub though! Hallway smells a little too but our room was fine.

So and So...Posted Jun 3, 2012 on Hotels.com
nice people but poorly design and kind of uncomfortable... no air condition so rooms get hot and too much outside noise so opening windows can be a problem if you are a light sleeper... will not recommend it..

Good location but...Posted Apr 9, 2012
Good and convenient location. Staffs have kindness, but shower in the bathroom didn't supply hot water sufficiently and I found sandwiches former guests may have stored in the refrigerator... As overall estimation, it's not so worse considering its price.

Proximity to Grand PlacePosted May 24, 2011
The room was small but clean. There are bars right next to the hotel blaring music till 2 in the morning, so if that's your thing, then this hotel is perfect for you. I just shut the windows and it was fine. The staff is friendly.
