Spring weekend in Brussels.

Posted May 20, 2014
The hotel is lovely. Good location, right off Avenue Louise. The staff were efficient. The decor is outstanding- clean, polished, well-appointed lobby and corridors. Same for the room. My room was quiet and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever experienced. I would definitely stay there again (if I can afford it!)

Very nice comfortable hotel

Posted May 9, 2014
Pros: Nice high bed which was very comfortable and a nicely decorated room
Cons: Ensure the TV had a button which just put on the TV - less is more......
Location: Good shopping close by, nice restaurants but also an Irish pub
Great hotel, slightly out of the way but a good area. I don't understand why modern hotels now tend to get the TV to make the tea and do everything rather than enable you to easily watch TV? Breakfasts really expensive, again not abnormal. Overall a very nice place to spend the night.

A hotel I recommend

Posted Apr 5, 2014
Cons: Charging for internet in rooms is a little outdated, though there is free access in public areas.
Excellent helpful knowledgeable staff. Well equipped rooms to a good standard. Facilities good. Well placed for transport. Tram around the corner.

Not a 5-star hotel

Posted Mar 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
I am surprised this is rated as 5 stars. I found the room quite cold. They don't think to give you enough bedding, so I had to ask for extra blanket. Breakfast is very expensive.

Nice hotel for a short break

Posted Nov 4, 2013
Pros: Clean rooms and nice big beds. Nice bathroom as well. The bed was the best thing about the hotel. really comfy. Also pretty good sound proof walls.
Cons: Free Wifi would be the first thing. Also a warmer reception would have been good.
Location: Not much near by except for the Horta Museum. But it is close to a tram stop which means that most things are within 20 -25 mins .
I went with my SO for a long weekend break. Hotel was clean. Room was large and everything worked fairly well. There is a near by tram stop so you can travel to all the tourist spots fairly easily. About the hotel, they said they were a 5 star hotel, but I would say it is more of a 3/4 star. Not a big difference but there were some things that I thought they could have improved. Firstly is that they don't have free-wifi in the rooms. You have the pay 15 euros a day for it (if I remember correctly). I have been to 2 star hotels which offer free-wifi. They stated they had free wifi in the communal areas but it was hard to connect to and slow. Secondly, the breakfast charge was 22 euros for a continental breakfast, I thought this was too expensive. Thirdly, I think they could have made the welcome much much better. We had just arrived from the airport and was expecting a warm welcome from the Hotel receptionist (I think her name was Mardeaux) but we really didn't get one. No smile, no "Hello", she asked for my last name and credit card (you have to pay a 300 euro guarantee which gets cancelled when you leave), and that was all really. Also she was just sitting down yet I still had to seek her attention. Wasn't the best welcome to start the holiday. In summary, I wouldn't go again as it isn't worth the money Id get the same experience at a 3/4 star hotel for cheaper. Also, remember you have to pay City Tax of 9 Euros a day extra when you stay at this hotel.

Good, but a little bit snobby.....

Posted Oct 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
Le Chatelain is a super comfortable experience - fabulous beds, enormous rooms and nice touches of quality. However, there are a couple of negatives. For a hotel to still charge EUR15 a day for in-room high speed wi-fi is ridiculous and really impacts on the hotel's ability to market itself as a business hotel. Secondly - the front desk staff were snooty on more than one occasion. A quality hotel is more than just the number of stars it has....

Comfortable hotel in excellent location

Posted Oct 12, 2013
Pros: As said the staff are fantastic and make the stay worthwhile. They are helpful and knowledgeable. It has a reat little garden terrace off the bar.
Cons: NO FREE WI-FI IN THE ROOM (we had to go down to the lobby for access). WE stayed in a number of hotels (both 3 and 5 star) and all had complimentary W
Location: Shopping and eating are in abundance and easy public transport connections arround Brussels.
Second time we have stayed and the staff are fantastic. Room is probably a bit tight (we had luggage for a 5 week trip) but very comfortable and in an excellent location (for us) just off Avenue Louisa and close to friends.
