Good if u looking for a luxury!Posted Jul 8, 2014
We loved this hotel! Stuff was very friendly, room was clean n fix everyday, free high speed internet was extra nice and free buffet breakfast was very nice! Oh I shouldn't forget that the hotel was located right in the middle of the town n we got free parking in front of the hotel, how nice!! We walked every where also city tour bus stops in front of our hotel so we were able to hop on/ hop off , u can buy the tickets n flyer from hotel :) only issue we had which wasn't a big deal is we booked junior suite n they gave us regular room first than switch fast when we mention. Our room was quite BIG! Very unique decor, bathrooms was nicely designed as well but even if u stay at regular room theor room is nice! First room they took us wasn't bad at all.pretty impressed w this hotel

Grand hotel channeling the poshness of days pastPosted Jul 6, 2014
The great: 1) Location very near to Grand Place 2) Room is awesome especially if you have a corner room, it is much bigger. Very nicely furnished, although I dont think I got a refurbished room (room 520) 3) Six free drinks in minibar, replenished every day 4) Most of the staff are very helpful and accomodating 5) Taxi fare to Midi (Zuid) train station is still affordable, around €10-13 The bad: 1) Gym is located on remote area at 1F, poor signposting. Plus it's so remote it can be a little unsettling to exercise there alone for long 2) Venture past the road the hotel is on, in the direction away from the Grand Place, and you might find yourself in dubious company. Always be alert

Beautiful HotelPosted Jul 3, 2014
The Metropole Hotel is close to the old town (about a 10 minute walk) It is easy to get to from Brussels Central (with a bit of local direction) The lobby is very inviting. I loved the old elevator that would take us to our room on the 4th floor. The room was very large and beautiful. The breakfast that was included was a beautiful buffet style breakfast in a lovely dining room. We would book this hotel again if we are ever in Brussels.

Pot luck on the roomsPosted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: It felt special, even though parts of the lobby were boarded up. The café and terrace were lively. Great breakfast and attentive staff.
Cons: The decor of the unlucky rooms, especially those with a small window overlooking a gloomy back.
Location: Most places are within walking distance. If not, the metro is right outside. Don't miss the Centre Belge de la Bande Dessinée.
I believe some of the rooms are excellent. Mine, at the back on the first floor was of decent size without being spacious, but had very little natural light, so that the dark red decor, though appropriate in the context of the hotel overall, made it gloomy. It was also badly in need of refurbishment, with huge scuff marks everywhere and peeling wallpaper. There were also oddities, like little drawer space and a safety box which you had to grovel on hands and knees to use. But the bathroom was good and the bed comfortable. It was also nice and quiet, even on an evening of World Cup hysteria on the streets.

Needs renovation but very friendly staffPosted Jun 23, 2014
Needs revamp. Our suite was noisy and had wallpaper hanging off the wall. Though staff was extremely nice and helpful - made a difference.

Poor roomPosted Jun 22, 2014
Pros: Lobby, bell staff and doormen
Cons: See above
I felt that because we had a pre paid room that was a bargain rate, that we got the worst room available at check in. No view, it had a separate room, like a suite with a conference table in it. We did not need the space. I would rather have had a better single room. We were in room 102. Terrible.

A wonderful hotel and great valuePosted Jun 17, 2014
Older, well-maintained hotel. The room was spacious, clean extremely comfortable. Bathtub is great for those that like to soak in a nice bubble bath. Room overlooked the street at the front entrance, and the window opened to a balcony where one could stand and get a nice view. If you like quiet though ask for room away from the front Street. If you have a lot of luggage or heavy luggage, I would definitely recommend a Bellman. There is an old-fashioned lift, which is pretty cool, but can be tricky if you have a lot of luggage. Even though you take the lift to your floor there may be additional stairs to get to your room. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Everything is extra chargePosted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: Very Old rooms
Extra charge for USA adapter whereas everyone gives it for free. Extra charge to replace the free coke in your room to Diet Coke.
